CronoAbe Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) Sun Haven just released a 1.0 patch today and exited Early Access! Full release available now if anyone is interested! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1432860/Sun_Haven/ As someone with hundreds of hours on Stardew Valley as well as a long-time fan of Harvest Moon / Rune Factory / Animal Crossing games, I have to say this is the most fun farm sim / town life type game I've played in quite a while. Definitely my favorite since Stardew Valley. Hoping to see people start modding this game now that it's out in full release! Edited March 12, 2023 by CronoAbe 3
Guest Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 It is made in unity so it should be easy to edit the files and reinsert them, however the hard part is who wants to try to edit the sprites while keeping the drawings on model with that games pixel art. Doable, but who is up to the challenge.
Guest Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT PROMISING MAKING ANYTHING. But basically by using the same method in the River City Girls thread you can make edits to the sprites/portraits. For example, I edited lynn's summer portrait on the left to show more skin compared to her portrait on the right. And seeing as a lot of the portraits are static moving only the head if someone was up to it they could make one good edit and then copy/paste it to the rest of the emotes for that season's clothes. Â TLDR; Possible, but requires interest/effort because pixel art is time consuming. Edited March 11, 2023 by Hugh Neutron

TLDR; Possible, but requires interest/effort because pixel art is time consuming. Well that's great news! It looks amazing too! I think if the game ever picks up more in popularity, modders are bound to come aboard like for Stardew Valley, eventually. I just hope enough people at least give the game a chance, it is pretty well made and fun, and you're not restricted to just one town but actually have access to three different ones with a variety of characters (and more things coming in the road map).  I would volunteer for this right away but I'm so bad at pixel art and art in general... I wonder if I could pay for something like that somewhere? Maybe I should consider tossing up a bunch on fiverr or something for editing, but is that even allowed since I don't own/have rights to the original art in the first place? Guest Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023  Honestly, while I'm not modding it I am considering picking up the game since I do in fact like these types of games. when they don't suck of course.  I'd consider modding it after one playthrough however, my pixel art skills are pretty average at best.

Just my own personal opinion, but this game's base game is more fun than stardew's base game I feel, stardew just has a ton of amazing mods and QoL stuff and additional things that make it the best where it's at right now. I've been a long-time player of harvest moon/rune factory/animal crossing games as well, so just my own personal opinion as someone who likes these kind of games as well! 1
Lamadi Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 (edited) I somehow did not know about this game until its full release last weekend. It's got great potential...I think. Though I'm not sold on the art style. The cutesy sprites is absolutely not appealing to me, and the permanent halloween theme is also kinda turnoff. I think it's mainly the large-ass heads. Makes me think of Bobbleheads, only the heads are glued so they don't bobble no more. Also the currently 'only' tool for extracting assets can suck on dog farts and die (well, at least I can't make sense of it. Managed to download everything, but can't make sense of the .net framework / runtime download page as trying to understand just a fraction of what I'm looking at / for makes my brain try to crawl its way out of my skull) so no hopes of looking into this quite yet. The third town, Withergate, is a monster town and is always Halloween-like theme, but otherwise the first town and second town are not at all. First town is your standard, regular town, second one is a magic-filled one where elves and other foresty things live. I can extract stuff from this but I have no clue how to inject things back in, at least I haven't had any success with it... Not really sure at this point if modding will ever take off for this, but I really hope it does.

Not really sure at this point if modding will ever take off for this, but I really hope it does. I haven't had the time to get into it yet, so I only had the screenshots and trailers to go on. It's gotten a boost of popularity now that it's released. Let's wait and see what comes of it.  I admit that I partially want to mod this game to make it less embarassing to play. Some of the romanceable characters' sprites look like freakishly bigheaded dolls that someone dressed up as fancy and vibrantly as possible, ignoring the fact that putting more than one of the characters on screen at the same time makes it look more like a clown septic tank. I'd feel as embarassed being caught playing this game with either of those characters on the screen as I would if I was caught playing any game with a nude / sex mod. Stardew Valley had to be extensively modded in order to look like this game does in vanilla. I'd really love to bring some of these visuals down a couple notches, but I need to take a look at the assets to figure out if it's even possible. Edited March 15, 2023 by Lamadi 1
Kinnu Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Hope this gets more attention. It really is a more fun version of Stardew to me. 3
Zunga23 Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 On nexus there are a couple of mods editing the images of the characters, so I'm sure a nude mod is more than viable 2
Dalizon Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 So I recently just completed this game. I had originally played Stardew Valley for a while and have it heavily modded (like 92 mods). I did mod sun Haven a bit, but there's not many mods to select from right now. Â Gameplay wise, honestly speaking Sun Haven is far more smooth feeling and the movement/collection of gathering, chopping etc etc feels way more fluid. Some of the things that kind of ticked me off though is things like when you marry someone they "don't move in" with you. I am sure mods could fix this. Â The graphics is better, although as the threads above said, far more effort to create. However I would be very excited to see a large modding community for this game, especially in the adult portion of it. It would be fantastic to see mods that are like Xtardew and Valley Girl that are in STV, but obviously these are significant modding investments. We may not see these types of mods for a long time yet (at least a year from now for the beginning stages). Â However, I believe if given the chance, Sun Haven (Already a more fun game to play in the vanilla states) can tentatively surpass the ability of Stardew Valley. Far more work for sure, but there's a lot of mechanics built in that STV simply don't have (such as magic and skills trees). Â There seems to at least be a small modding community starting, but I would not be surprised if the modding community for this exploded to that similar of STV. If I had any pixel art skills at all, I would consider modding it myself. Â But as Lamadi said, not just adult mods would make the game better. Some characters looks very....embarrassing, which is very accurate. Character Sprite reworks would add a very high degree of positive change to this game. On top of that having the scarecrows appearance and general size changed would be good too. As it stands the scarecrows are massive Halloween scarecrows that kind of just throw off the whole aesthetic of the farm. And the elf dragon in my opinion needs a color re-work, looks like some kid threw a few buckets of paint on it and ran away, the other dragons look fine. Â There's lots that can be done, many of them very simple things that can add big differences, other things would be far more consuming. 1
Guest Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 I tried to make something but I ended up forgetting/getting bored since the game wasn't hooking me in anyways.
Andarus Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 I put 80hrs into the Game and the I love the Sprites but the Portraits could be better. There is a Mod on Nexus that changes them a bit, but I didn't like it too much. 1

I would like to give it a shot myself but after a couple of hours of failing to get the images I kinda got frustrated. Thanks in advanced! 1

Open UABE Open the .asset file the texture is stored Search for your texture2d file. (Use search feature to speed up this process) After selecting your texture click plugins, select aedit and OK On the next window click load, select your edited texture and save. Depending on the texture size it may take a lil bit to load. After the texture is ready to be imported it will have a * next to it in the list. After doing it will all the texture you want. Exit and you will receive this prompt Click Yes and select where you modded .assets will go (Save in a different folder). PS: Use this method only for testing texture yourself. Since it takes many steps, many users won't know how to do it or be to lazy to do it. Redistributing your mod: After you're done modding and saved your edited .assets you will go back to the initial screen of UABEA. To redistribute your mod go to file→ModMaker→Create a StandaloneInstaller You can also do it while in the file browsing window. My bad the method was DM'd to me during that thread not in the thread itself. Here it is Copied and Pasted. Please do share your progress I may be a pervert, but I do also love watching people's art processes.

I decided to go with Iris first, seeing as her summer outfit would require the least amount of work I believe, I started with a simple color replacing of the greens of her top with the shades of her skin and then did a bit of editing to make it look a little more like boobs rather than a piece of cloth over boobs and called it a night for now, need make the nipples and areolas and then probably move over to the bottom part (for Iris at least, I do plan to extend her tattoos to the breasts, but that will have to wait for the nipples), this is it for now. Please don't expect anything amazing, I'm not even really an artist, I just wanted to give my hand at this, however, pointers, tips and suggestions are welcome (as long as they are constructive) from anyone! 6

espguy Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 Ive been lurking In this thread for a while, nexus has some mods and a small modding community for it, heres hoping that after we get horny sprites we get some events and such. 1
Guest Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 (edited) Â Editing these sprites is so damn hard because it the way I want to color it feels like It goes against the actual way the art style is. Thankfully once you finish one part you can just CTRL+CÂ CTRL+V the body onto the rest of the sprites because screw making unique poses for each emotion Edited June 27, 2023 by Hugh Neutron
DustyBurrows Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Here you go. I "enhanced" her personality a little. Also, made the shirt lower cut. 3
DustyBurrows Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Been working on it more, there is a lot to work on in this. The style is interesting to say the least. For this one, the enhanced personality. I had to modify the hair for lucia because it didn't look right with the changes made. I usually start with the wedding image because they are the least obscured, and make changes from there. Haven't made progress on Vivi yet. I'll probably make this into a mod pack when I complete a character. 2
wolffang719 Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 I wanted to take a crack at doing some modding in this game but I don't have UABE and wherever I look for it my antivirus says its a threat, is there actually issues with it or is it just because its one of those tools that technically does mess with your files but like in a controlled way but your antivirus doesn't know that
