morty smith Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 I've been trying to change a clothing piece's armor slot and, so far, nothing has worked. I've followed three different tutorials involving NifSkope, Outfit Studio, and Synthesis. Each time, the clothing pieces don't change slots and won't even appear in-game. If anyone can offer some advice or tutorials I would be very grateful.
belegost Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 (edited) Did you change them in both ARMA and ARMO records in .esp file as well? Read the second post here: This is the method I use with nifscope. "It just works" (tm). Edited February 11, 2023 by belegost

Read the second post here: This is the method I use with nifscope. "It just works" (tm). I changed both the ARMA and ARMO records. I also tried what Seijin8 recommended and converted BSDismemberSkinInstance to NiSkinInstance but still nothing changed Edited February 11, 2023 by morty smith
IBAGadget Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 (edited) I do it all the time. Open the requisite .esp in Creation Kit Find the ARMA and ARMO record you want to change Right-click, select 'Edit record' Highlight the bodyslot you want the item to use un-highlight the slot you don't want it to use Save and push plugin to pc In Outfit Studio, you may also have to change the Partition that the clothing item uses to be the same as what you have selected in CK in order for it to layer over other items that would ostensibly be in the same slot. Remember that you have to change all the meshes for that particular clothing item to match - forget to change the partition for the metal buckles on the vest and it could mean that it still hides the bra you're wearing. You may run into a situation where the item doesn't like the slot you've chosen and refuses to show up in the game, so you need to try again and select a different bodyslot until it works. In this picture, Joi is wearing 3 items that were originally set as taking up slot 32 (Body) - now only one of them does. Edited February 11, 2023 by IBAGadget

All along I've been using SSEEdit which somehow didn't do the job.
