Tinxi Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 (edited) Thinking about buying a new Sims game and looking for recommendations about which game is more flexible and supports above features (either with or without mods.) Thanks. Edited January 5, 2023 by Tinxi
FauxFurry Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Not unless one buys the Jungle Adventure, Paranormal Stuff, Vampires and Werewolves add-ons. The Sims 4, even more so than the other installments, is more slice-of-life than some kind of dungeon crawling RPG, closer to Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley than it is to Don't Starve. 1
Madison09 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Sims 4 is most certainly not RPG oriented, I don't think it really has too many quests besides Get to Work's job tasks and a few other little events. I felt like Sims 3 had much better support for this. 1
porkybork Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 If you really want to play a Sims game with more RPG elements, you're better off playing The Sims Medieval or one of the console spinoffs like The Sims 2: Castaway. TS4 is pretty much a dollhouse simulator. 1

But seems like even these three combined, do not provide as much gameplay options as WA expansion of TS3. Although there is a Monarchy mod for Sims 4 but it is filled with rabbit hole tasks that i want my sims to do out in open.

But sadly, it does not support in-depth modding like Sims 3 so i am trying to re-create that middle-ages experience as much as possible.

Even modded, Sims 4 is not comparable to Sims medieval in the rpg elements. In Sims Medieval quests you do actually impacts how the rest of the story will continue to play out. in the Sims 4, everything only matters if you imagine that it matters. 1
