Jayce Dimmer Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Howdy y'all. On a spur of inspiration on how to fit in differing body meshes whilst sticking with the lore (explaining how the body changes back to vanilla when clothes are worn), I went ahead and did these steps: Generate bodies via Bodyslide Place generated bodies in "meshes\aaafyty\sexehbodeh" Place CBBE textures in "textures\aaafyty\sexehbodeh" Open up the generated .nif files in Nifskope Change the textures to point to the "textures\aaafyty\sexehbodeh" folder instead of the "textures\actors\character assets" folder Save changed .nif files Load up CK Create new armour Point the model to the _1 body .nif file Create new TextureSet containing the body textures in "textures\aaafyty\sexehbodeh" Save Launch Make NPC wear the changed body Now, the mesh gets into Skyrim AOK. However, it's the texture for the mesh that screws up; it's as if the mesh is taking the textures from the character assets folder instead of the sexehbodehs folder that I edited it to use. This is apparent due to there being 'seams' that consist of one colour. There is one on either side of the hips and the nipples are not covered by the texture. The wierd thing is, it shows up fine in the CK. It's only in-game that it screws up. Anybody got an idea on how I could fix this?
Liuli Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 It's probably simpler to just use Caliente's vanilla outfit replacers: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12273/?tab=1&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D12273%26preview%3D&pUp=1 It replaces almost all the vanilla armors and outfits in the game with your chosen bodyslide form (or better yet, bodyslide++). Follow the instructions carefully if you try it though.

Follow the instructions carefully if you try it though. The problem with that, is it doesn't cover most of the vanilla clothes/armours, just some of them. Nevermind all the non-vanilla armours that I have. When that mythical update comes, that will allow all meshes to be adapted, then perhaps. But as it is now? It's too much of an alpha to be used for an actual play through. I'll wait for a few others to give their insight; I might just be mucking something up, or there could be another way. Maybe if I could export the body without losing all the important data (UV Maps, weights, etc.) and then import it into another armour...Egh. I'd need a guide for that. Thanks anyway.
Liuli Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 An alpha? o_O It covers 90~95% of the vanilla armors and outfits. Ah well, best of luck with the tinkering.
Uriel Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Armor Addon records got those "Male Skin Texture" and "Female Skin Texture" subrecords. Have you assigned that Texture Set of yours there? Also, i'm unable to understand what are you trying to achieve here...

Have you assigned that Texture Set of yours there? Also, i'm unable to understand what are you trying to achieve here... AHA! There we go! Didn't know that I should change those skin texture subrecords. It now lacks that seam! However, the colour of the body does not change when it's worn with a different race. It's the same colour no matter if it's worn by a Dunmer, Breton, Nord, etc. Now, that's no problem because I can most definitely make variations of this for the appropriate race, but is there something that I'm missing which would allow the skin to change per race, in the same way that the vanilla armours do? Edit: What I'm trying to do, is implement a custom generated body as an armour. The reason behind this, is I've got an idea for allowing variation in the bodies of NPC's when the nasty is being performed; the armour will be chosen by the Player after completing the Dibella quest. When the nasty is being done, the NPC will equip the new armour. This would allow for a lore-friendly way to implement, at the very least, naked body variations.

They are changing the textures because engine is using race's texture set if armor addon has no texture set assigned. That's exactly the reason i said i cant understand what you are trying to achieve.

That puts a damper on things. *Sigh* Would you happen to know of a body texture that works both with UNP and CBBE bodies?
Uriel Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 No, that's impossible. Bodies differ too much. That would be great to have such a texture. That division between CBBE and UNP is not a good thing imo. Now europeans seems to chose CBBE-centered while asians are nearly all UNP-oriented. And i can't decide wich one to use, yet again xD

That division between CBBE and UNP is not a good thing imo. That's a damn shame. For another question, how would I go about applying, for example, the Dark Elf race's tints to the new 'armour'? Would I have to tweak the body texture by hand or is there a tinted .dds file kicking about that I could just overlay upon the 'armour' texture?
Uriel Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 DDS should be laying somewhere, but you can only merge body texture with it, or use RaceMenu's overlay functionality i think. There is also "UNP pantyhose standalone" with some interesting technique to apply the textures, i haven't tried to find out how it works yet. Here: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/10341-conversions-for-unpb-with-bbp/ There's also this but it works only on player now. And will need every armor marked to work with armors. btw, about the universal texture: it should be possible to at least cover the visible texture gaps on hips when you "wear" CBBE textures and try the UNP armor on. It would be still a mess about nipples, a mess on feets and hands(why the hell are they using different ones in the first place?), but those parts are usually covered(yes, this happens to me too) with clothes/armor parts. Why isn't it done already i wonder.
