jaege Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Just for shitz and grins I tried to change some of the verbiage used in one of the mods. It was the "hard time" prison mod. I wanted the prisoners to say some different things as they raped my toon. Anyway, I noted that doing so seemed to upset the script. The speech and animations no longer played as the original modder had intended.Actually, the animations would not start at all. Is there some way that I can make those sorts of changes and not mess up the mod?
prideslayer Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 If you added new dialog entries rather than modifying the existing ones, then you broke the dialog chain that leads to the scripts running. Make sure you just change the dialog text itself -- don't delete the old entries and make new ones.
jaege Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 Thanks I will try that. That seems to be exactly what happened. The dialog seemed broken.
panthercom Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Is there likely to be more than one location where dialog needs to be changed? I also tried editing the dialog for Sexout Sex; it didn't break anything, but the changes didn't show up in-game. I have successfully used the NVSE enabled Geck to modify scripts before. I didn't add or delete dialog, only altered existing sentences.
prideslayer Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 There may well be multiple spots. If you open the mod in FNVEdit you can get a list of all the records and look through them to see where they are. I advise against using it to edit them though, the GECK is better suited to that kind of editing.
