Customise Default Underwear Options

Hi all,

 

I was wondering if there was a way to set what items are considered 'default underwear' for WickedWhims?. I don't mean setting underwear individually by selecting the individual sim, I mean adding items to the list that can will appear as one of the default underwear options sims can be wearing?.

 

I have a few items of CC underwear that appears to have been added into the possible default underwear sets, but I have a great many CC underwears that do not appear and I'd like to try and configure them so they have a chance of appearing as defaults. That way I can make the defaults a wide variety without needing to set each individual one.

 

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Not quite sure I understand you correctly, but I believe you can use a program like Sims4Studio to tag the clothes you have installed to be considered underwear.

Although I've never used S4S extensively so if I'm wrong, someone correct me!

You're correct, @Husk

To edit any cc you have, install SIms 4 Studio. Open it and close it after setting it up. Open it up again. From "My Projects" (NOT "My CC") navigate to the clothing you wam to edit. A screen with a 3D model to the left and several menus to the right will open. Look for the Category Tab, scroll down to Sub Part Type. You will see either Brassiere or Underwear.

Tick it, then click Save at the bottom right. Repeat for every item you want to edit.

 

This should add them to WW. I just checked with my game to make sure, and I have a set of pants that is wrongly tagged as 'Underwear' in S4S that comes up in the WW Underwear menu. Let me know if you found any issues, I'll be happy to help.

Hi all, thanks for the help so far, Yes Mimi I think you have the problem I am having correct.

 

I have installed S4S and I can see the checkbox you highlighted but for the underwear I want to add to allow WW to consider them underwear, the Brassiere option was selected?.

 

I can see 'Underwear' as an option for Bottoms but not for bras?.

 

Also a related question, WW seems to be able to match pairs (The underwear it defaults sims to be wearing are a matching set), where would this be configured?

If you're seeing a bra being checked as Brassiere, then it's correct. Every sub part has a different name depending on the placement. For bottoms, you need to check Underwear. But for tops, you need to check Brassiere. If it's a full body outfit, you need to check Lingerie.

About your second question, I'm not sure how WW matches pairs. If I had to guess, I'd suspect it's either both items being in the same .package, or having a similar name. If you can give me a link or file that you know WW knows how to match, I can hopefully take a look at how it's done. I had never questioned it myself, but I'd love to learn, so it's no bother.

So I'm hoping links are allowed here but for example the bras/pants that are in this download:

Will show up as default underwear sets that sims can be wearing, without having been configured. The sets appear to match and even the swatches/colors match. So for instance, without me customising when initating a WW Animation with a randomly created NPC sim they will often be wearing one of these sets.

Do appear in the items I can set as underwear if I am to go through WW > Personalise > Change Underwear, but they don't appear as a set that WW can identify as underwear for the purposes of making them default underwears (or alternatively underwears WW will set when using command 'ww.random_sims_underwear').

 

If it helps, my reason for asking is I feel like it would be much more enjoyable for all of the underwear options I have downloaded to have a chance of showing up when initiating with random sims I have not created, without me needing to customise them, that way it feels more surprising.

Thank you again for your patience and all your help, I'm learning things slowly. I am wondering if WW only sets default sets and thats why even though many of the items I have are marked as underwear/brassiere in S4S if they aren't recognised as a set thats why WW won't include them as a default underwear option.

A special configuration file is used to configure underwear sets for WW, look here for details.

I've not much experience editing XML's but I'm going to give this a go, it looks super complicated but I'll see how I get on.
