kosukosu1
I want to export my character's face to a 3d model, either in blender or nifskope but is this possible? I understand that the face is generated using facegen, so do I need to apply some transformations to the head mesh somehow? Has anyone tried this? Link to comment
gregathit
Perhaps give us a bit more detail on what you are trying to accomplish. You can import the head mesh into blender with no issues. You just can't change the facial expression. You can reshape the head if you wanted to as well. From my understanding the facegen just uses the base head mesh, so if you alter that, then it will go off of that. I might not be understanding what you are trying to accomplish and explaining things wrong so anyone more experienced feel free to jump in. Link to comment
kosukosu1
Hi greg - what I basically want to do is to export an exact copy of my character, including the face and facial features, to blender so I can use it in a game engine like Unity. Unity can natively import objects and animations from blender files so if I'm able to get it in blender, I should be able to just plop it in Unity. Link to comment
movomo
You indeed can import/export egm in blender, and 'mimic' the facegen using shapekey morph slider. If your purpose is creating a statue of your character or something that's ok, but not sure about other things. Basically blender nifscript is poor at keeping vert orders so I doubt if exporting egm morph will work properly for your purpose. Link to comment
kosukosu1
Hmm how do I mimic the facegen using a shapekey morph slider? That just whooshed over my head I'd like to be able to take the face data from my savegame and apply it to the head mesh and see it in blender.. I hope that is remotely possible EDIT: So I was able to import a head mesh and import a egm file along with it using the nifscript in blender. So I see under the shape keys there are ones labeled "EGM ASYM 17" and so forth - how do I translate the facegen data from a savegame into the shape key slider values? Link to comment

All I can do at the moment is just tinkering those sliders until I get similar shape as the character. Perhaps someone may help further? JFI, you may need to import tri file as well for facial expressions. I think I've seen tri import script in Skyrim Nexus.. Link to comment
