Hello Everyone, Hurricane Ian

IHi everyone, I'm....well I'm alive actually and some days I'm able to say that with a smile and others in tears.

 

I have well at some point my life got derailed and gradually I became a care giver for two senior citizens my parents.  I was living in a downstairs apartment on well the direct path of the hurricane Irma which was a category five hurricane that devastated southwest Florida.

    I was thinking like many others that we would get 12 inches of flooding at most.....like with Charlie.  Well we got 12 feet of seawater there were waves slapping up against the second floor of the house ><

 

So I have lost all my stuff except for this phone and a basket of laundry...I also have a pair of flip flops, that I have been working in clearing away debris from my parents house ...I just don't have a car and for so e damn reason my folks have not made time to put in an order for proper sized shoes also internet is pretty spotty I'm using a smart phone.  Hopefully my huge hobbit feet get 14 inch wide shoes soon.

 

I have writen this well this is second attempt, not wanting to pour out everything here and not really sure how much to a actually say, also writing with thumbs is a nightmare in and of itself but at least it's not as bad as well when I look up an everywhere I look in the neighborhood is just wreckage.

 

The pictures that you see and the movie clips do not give a real idea of how bad the storms damage was.  It is something well you have to be standing in the middle of to get a real sense of, everywhere you look is damage.

 

Anyway I am alive and in good health, have months of unpaid labor with questionable benefits ahead of me, my relationship with my folks has been often uneasy and at times a nightmare onto itself, they have no clue as to how much I have given up to assist them over the years and their understanding is well likely to deteriorate from here on out.

 

It is unlikely that I will be modding in the nearby future, it will be at least a month more before I clear the whole downstairs and strip it to the studs.

After that we are waiting for an electrician to wire up and certified the house for power.

 

And joy I get to work on an apartment that must be completely rehabbed 2 to 3 months of work.

 

I do have a roof over my head and the local church is helping out, I hear about 5,700 homes in the immediate area are condemned, been out an about I think a lot of them are probably salvageable but they are  1 floors stripped entirely of the interior.

 

It's been tough, work from first light till darkness and we have a heatwave.  Everyday move about 12 to 24 trash cans about 50 gallon size full of just debris over to a growing pile....my second pile is about 4 feet tall and 12 around.

 

Sad face my PC is dead, it's not coming back it's been there for several months.

PC ended up below a table???

 

Here well no room just laying out my collection of PC parts or at least what I could find, I had another power supply for 1300 watt new in box but it probably floated off.

So I just sort of wrote what had happened but left out context of who I was to the community as "Gameplayer".

 

Well I am also Gamefever on Nexus.  I built a horde of UUNP bodyslides and authored book of UUNP mod.  On loverslab I did the bulk of the UUNP bodyslides used for Devious De I e mod family which earned me my contributor green tag.

 

I figured out how to activate the first person body slots for true first person perspective mods which is still used today in skyrimse.  I replaced the havoc object with a nice female head mesh so that players using hdt smp in Skyrim le would not need an equipable object why??? Well devious devices would completely strip a player of all objects so I sat down and figured out how to force females to have breast jiggle physics even if they were force unequipped a method still in use today.

 

I built bodyslides for every single fallout 4 outfit on Nexus for atomic beauty body also works on ikaros Android race all of that is here on LL.

 

Basically I am a mod author that has been at it for a decade, and well sure I get you may not know me or even like or approve of what I do or have done.

 

But anyway that is some background of who I am as a mod author in this community.

That really sucks. I live over a hundred miles from the coast and hurricane season still makes me nervous. I have very little in life and it's not insured. Far as what you've sacrificed for your folks- I can empathize.

Been at it for weeks.

Don't really have any good news yet at least I finally have some shoes instead of flip flops to do the work in.

 

My PC and recent video card I I stalled in August, really wish I opted for the extra hundred dollar insurance now

 

 

 

Ya that's been in salt water and sat there for weeks it's not washing out guys.  No insurance.

 

I'm lucky got a place to stay, all of the area is a flood plane and no one is getting a FEMA trailer.

 

Trying to get better employment while helping my folks with the house, just hanging in there.

Don't know where my mind was I put title Irma which was the last massive storm that blew by back in 2017.  This one is Ian and it sucks.

At least back with Irma I had the good since to put my PC up on the next floor up rather than on top of a workbench on the ground floor.
