Mods/CC not working after update

Since the update of a few days ago, my mods and CC are not working. When I try to open the game, it says I have to remove the mods. Then it works. I even tried cutting the sims 4 folder from documents to desktop (with mods in it). It opens up, but there are no mods or CC anywhere. And this is with mods and CC enabled... And I just started with WW a few days ago ?

How much truth are there to the rumours of the new update blocking the use of mods/CC?

Uh, what? Normally, a game update will disable any mods and CC (because game updates tend to break stuff). Instead of the list of mod files that were loaded you get a little notification about that and all you have to do then is to re-enable mods in the game settings, close the game and start it up again. You don't have to fiddle around with the files in the Documents folder unless something doesn't work or you get an actual error message, usually about some kind of exception or a cryptic error code.

 

Game updates don't block you from using mods, but the people behind these updates don't care about the mods and whether they break them, so they just switch them off every time. Basically, they're telling you that if some mods don't work after a game update, it's not their problem.
