DoctaSax Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 So, I've got hippies in the garden. Well, modern-day hippies, I guess. A young couple with 2 young'uns. They arrived two hours ago on their bicycles, asked if they could pitch their tents in the garden for the night. I said "ehm, well ehm, sure. Bit of a surprise, but I guess... well sure." If you can't trust a hippie couple that tells their kids off by saying "I'd rather you didn't jump up & down my rucksack, [insert name I didn't quite understand]", then who can you trust, right? Â I don't quite know why I post about it. It's just never happened here so far; I'm like Tony Soprano and his ducks. I just like the idea of it. If people still think they can just ring some random door bell and ask to stay the night, and if people still say "ehm, sure, I guess" - then there's still some hope left. With all the negative crap that jumps at you the minute you turn on the tv or the radio, every single newsbite, every bloated ego you have to deal with, you tend to so quickly forget that life is just a ride. A bike ride, to be exact.
Vedli Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Haha, Hippies in your garden you say? I though that was code for something.  Personally I would try: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rosate-Very-Strong-Glyphosate-Weedkiller/dp/B007NG6SSC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375737855&sr=8-1&keywords=industrial+weedkiller  You don't take care of the problem early they'll spread.
Astaroth-Lite Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 You're lucky, all we ever get this far west are Mormons.
psammeticus Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I'd take hippies and Mormons any day over the mobile meth labs that roam my backcountry Midwestern roads.
Emily Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 As long as they don't smoke and grow ganja in your garden..
DoctaSax Posted August 10, 2013 Author Posted August 10, 2013 I wouldn't have much of a problem with that, as long as they share.
Ark of Truth Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Just out of general curiosity how did this end?
DoctaSax Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 They packed up & left the next morning, as they said they would. Left a thank-you card, because I was asleep.
