Returning to skyrim SE, looking for some advices

Hello LL skyrim community, i just re-installed Skyrim SE, and after whats been roughly a 2 years hiatus i'm about to start a brand new modded playthrough from scratch. I understand most of these questions already been answered multiple time on this forum, but as i'm about to deep dive reading multiple mods description and trying to figure out how i'm gonna sort them in my MO2 load order, any pointers and advices would be greatly appreciated and could potentially save me a lot of time and headaches.

- First, i'm planning a SE set up, i've got no interrest in CC content, but i've seen the AE content and i was wondering if it's like back in the days when LE was updated to SE, where most mods from LE were not meant for the newer SE. Should i avoid the AE like the plague or is it somewhat compatible with SE?

- Played a lot of Fallout 4 these last 2 years, theres 2 things i really liked about FO4, a mod called buffout wich fixed a lot of aspect of the great Todd mess and when used with a crash log scanner would help me pinpoint the source of my CTD, theres also on this LL forum an adult oriented set up guide for FO4 called the fucking manual, wich is constantly updated and a  great reference for adult modding.  Are there any equivalent for these with skyrim?  (only mod i know that kinda fit that description is SSE engine fixes)

- Female body replacer. A quick glance at the nexus i can still see the body replacer war still a thing. Almost made up my mind i would go CBBE, but then i notice the new BHUNP.  Don't get me wrong, it's not really about the looks, CBBE seems like the most compatibility friendly and more universal of them all, but whats the advantage of choosing another body replacer like BHUNP, are any of these better suited for adult animation? And do they require different set up or are better suited for physics? also what about male body, is it still just install SoS or is there other options around

- I'm not using wabbajack or mod collection, i'm just a plain MO2 user and i fiddle with LO and try not to rely too much on stuff like LOOT and wrye bash. That being said what i'm looking for is a Mod list or guide wich i could use as a reference to build a LO fondation, and then create multiple profile around that fondation and add quest, location, adult set up, etc and then fine tuned my set up. Any link would really save me a lot time figuring how i'm gonna build my playthrough.

- Sexlab vs Osex?  Last time i played skyrim i tried osex when it came out, it was a great mod, but the interface was a bit too clunky to my liking and i ended up staying with SL.  Now it has come to my attention that Osex got a new community version wich seems to be updated frequently.  I'm definitly going to try both SL and Osex, but do you have any recommendation before i try them, like a body replacer that works better for one and not for the other?

Thats pretty much it, forgive me for the wall of text, and if you reply, don't feel like you have to answer to all of my questions, just bit and pieces will still be helpfull and appreciated. Thanks

And before i go i got a last one : i notice Kris Takahashi came back and start to work on updating and fixing Interresting NPC. Is it worth re-installing that mod now, always was one of my favorite, but in the end i decided it was too much trouble to keep in my LO the way it was few years ago.

From my understanding BHUNP has better breast physics and I think you get like clothing pressure on breasts? Or at least I've only seen outfits for BHUNP that do that, there is a post explaining it in more detail somewhere on the internet by baka, google something like 'what is BHUNP' or 'difference between BHUNP' and you should find it. You need compatible clothing replacers though, not sure if regular UNP stuff works for it. I think in general CBBE has most clothing at least on SE (LE its probably still UNP).

As for fixes, the only guides I know are for LE since thats what I use, I can recommend some mods, skyrim priority se so you don't have to manually change the process priority every time, Animation Limit Crash Fix SSE 'The patch fixes the crash on game loading when you install too many animations with FNIS. May also give you increased fps and loading speed.', those I know for sure exist on SE as well.
SE got blasted by updates as well, you should search up which ver you should downgrade to (unless this is old news, someone correct me), AE is a mess in that as far as I know most SE mods do not work on AE, if you can convert them yourself cool, but many sexlab mods are not converted.

Google step guide and follow that for the basic stuff, idk how important that is on SE but on LE having ENB boost helps a lot, and you probably wanna use ENB anyway so boost is just no cost bonus.

Osex has a lot less quests and just in general integrated mods with it, but if you want vanilla sex you might like it more, some people do, I just don't like having very few choices in making the gameplay more about the sex, maybe one day they will be comparable.

Loot on LE is doing some weird stuff, I generally don't use it, I'd imagine its not ideal on SE either.

Dunno what kind of mods you are looking for but there is something that has been on the rise last 2 years or so, and that is voice packs for mods, its AI generated, quality varies but for me personally that adds a lot even in worst case scenario, here is the link to the thread with links to most or all of them

should you avoid it? yes...but chances are you already have it and are a bit fucked. all SE games are using the AE exe and not all skse mods have been updated yet.

It is even worse now. There is standard SE version 1.5.97 and a number of AE versions 1.6.XXX. Latest Steam version is 1.6.640.

A matter of preference which version to choose. You can choose whatever version you want. Look at this Nexus link to downgrade game if needed.

For SE version 1.5.97 you can use this crash logger. Huge help to find cause of CTD's.

Minefield topic as it is also a matter of preference. Seems that CBBE (and the new 3BA version of CBBE) is slightly better supported but plenty of mods supporting BHUNP.

Sexlab is the best supported sex framework mod but Osex and Ostim are slowly catching up. As a start i would suggest to go with Sexlab and when you got a working setup, you can try Osex/Ostim.

Load order... another minefield topic. A gazillion opinions about this so you have to search for examples and do your own experiments. Look what mod creators suggest for each mod.

NPC mods can sometimes be a pain due to mismatched head and body causing dark face bug. Interesting NPC's should work without too many problems but it of course depends on what other mods you have installed.

Damn, it's worse than i imagine, guess i'll spend some time going through that whole AE mess before i seriously start working on my new game lol.  Thanks for your input and all the links, exactly the kind of feedback i was looking for

EDIT : wow, just read a bunch of stuff about this AE debacle, USSEP team sticking to newer version and advising not to downgrade, etc... such a mess.  I just wanted to play SE ffs lol, Bethesda never cease to amaze, it just work! ?
