Help building with unique charecter build.

I want to learn how to build my own unique character but i do not know where to start. I understand how to use the race menu and how to modify presets made by other gamers but I want to do more than just modify presets and use the race menu.

From what I understand there is away to build a character by placing various meshed and textures into the Skyrim SE file system and by using body slide studio. I am not sure where to begin learning how to create my own unique character or the process. I also do not know if the creation process involves using the Skyrim Creation Kit.

Would some amazing person help me learn how to create my own amazing unique player character.

Interesting-you open a big barrel by that wish...but a big wish can lead you to become a great creator, soon!

As far you have played and used skyrim´s mods for some longer time and so far you know the character´s (female) editing-body-functions of racemenu and bodyslide in an exactly way, you can of course create a fully own body with face, hands and feet. Anyway do you have to integrate the whole new stuff into the game. The basic question is then, if you want the new stuff to become working inside of racemenu and bodyslide again. Next question is, if you want to use existing texture-meshes for your new body....it all is depending on experiences with software for creating 3dmeshes/sculpturing (Z-brush/3dsmax/maya/blender) and for example for creating texture-mesh-painting (depends also on other software or on suiting software plugins for the mentioned softwares).

You have to understand the scripting of racemenu, it´s bodyslide integration and it ´s advantage over racemenu, you have to think about compatibility with existing collisions and physics of existing bodies as well. You need to know about HDT PE/ BBP/SMP, about body-weight-painting, about skeleton-creation and it´s functions and a related compatibility with the skyrim-animation system as well is important. A body-mesh all alone is of course not making a new character, skeleton and a dedicated work at the animation-related mechanic is of course a chance to create more optimal stretches of the mesh, compared with the existing ones.

Helping to learn this all is not possible as this may take some years. Learning one software only like blender or others can cause some years of intensiv training and lesson-teaching by professional guides/teachers.

As soon you leave the way to want to use an own mesh, you probably have to learn a lot. Existing meshes of different bodies, which use bodyslide/racemenu are btw. not reversible to become edited inside of 3d-software with ease. This can only be done by using lot of different tricks and some suiting tools.

SKYRIM se is btw. again a little more harder to "mod" as you need to use conversions of your creations. It also may happen, that you get in touch with different aspects of existing collisions which are handled for sex-realated animations and their "mechanics".

You also need to understand the limitations, which your work has to fullfill, so that your new character is suiting with the game at all.

It depends the level of control you want.

You can just create an NPC in the Creation kit then create the head in game with ECE or racemenu then export and use that head. That process is very simple and takes not much longer than it takes to design the character head.

If you want more control like a custom skeleton and textures, you will need to create a new race to use for your character and put all the assets in the correct folders.

There are tutorials out there for this if you search...

That is a very big and slight overwhelming explanation to my question. I get it takes a lot of time to master the fine art of animation and character creation. TBH I don't really want to be a master at this to me this is a personal time project. I just want to learn how to create a custom race/character and make something I am happy with. That being said I am willing to dive into the complicated stuff. I in no way intend on starting my own portfolio of characters(Judging by your knowledge I bet your portfolio looks awesome). If the project evolves into something more than just a fun new learning experience with some level frustration mix in that's cool.  I did dabble with animation while I was in college and I can script and program so I assume I can figure it out. Where did you start when you first learned to create your own character or race in Skyrim? Also other than YouTube do you know of any resources you would recommend for a someone such as myself? Are there any resources you prefer or recommend over others? Thanks
