Bluegunk Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 (edited) CLOSED. My game has been missing Skyrim-Patch.bsa since the AE version came out. I didn't realise until today that it is missing. The trouble is, no matter how many times I verify and re-verify my files, it will NOT install into my game. Does it exist? What on earth is going on? Edited October 21, 2022 by Bluegunk
Arizona_Steve Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 I think it was removed as part of the general shuffle of things when Skyrim AE came out. I don't have it in my install either. 1
Bluegunk Posted October 20, 2022 Author Posted October 20, 2022 Yet Vactrol, the author of Chanterelle has a patch, complete with Creation Club stuff in it! I was in discussion with him and his mod actively uses they patch he has. I just re-installed my game - still no patch. Oh well, thanks for letting me know! I'll wait for Vactrol to explain.
traison Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 (edited) If you want to verify it yourself, use steamdb. Look up your game in steamdb, and find its App ID. Note in the case of AE, that there's a Parent App specified. Find the parent's App ID. Open .\Steam\SteamApps\appmanifest_<appid>.acf. Locate "InstalledDepots", and note down the depot ids. Return to steamdb and inspect each depotid under the Depots tab of your game. The Files tab will show you all included files. Example. Edit: For what its worth, I have that file and I can share it. Does seem like whatever you're doing was not meant for AE however, so getting that file to actually work is up to you. I think personally I'd start from verifying that the contents of the patch file was not merged into other BSA files. Open each BSA/BS2 file one by one, and extract the following file: interface\controls\360\controlmap.txt Verify that it matches this MD5 checksum: 50a50ae7b927bf5b41b3f9692c8846f5 If it did, you have the file from the SE Skyrim - Patch.bsa file, if it didn't you have something else. Bluegunk Posted October 21, 2022 Author Posted October 21, 2022 Hello again, @Traison! Many thanks for your helpful reply. Last night I got to the bottom of this, and concluded that Skyrim AE has no Skyrim-patch.bsa. The patch was absorbed into the rest of the bsas. I even went as far as reinstalling my AE to check this! The CC Content that Vactrol had in his patch was a file he'd acquired from Discord, from Bethesda. The contents are now in Skyrim-Meshes0.bsa. To compound all this, I realised I had a grave error in my load-out. It's a mistake so bad I dare not speak its name, because I would be laughed at from here to Mordor and probably chucked into Mount Doom. Vactrol was very graceful in accepting my apology. So I wasted your time too. I am sorry.
