What's the Pro's & Con's of using old WW Animations?

Hello, I've been experiencing some errors in my game every now and then from the Better Exceptions Mod about the "Whims_Tracker Error". My game is fine until I use certain WW Animations and Objects, But maybe it could be that using old WW Animations that haven't been updated in more than a few months to a year +, and I just wanted to know if they are still safe to use and or just delete them from the game? I honestly always keep the animations updated when its available from their respectful authors, since the majority of WW Animations I use are from Turbo Drivers website.

Do any of you guys still use old WW Animations or stay with the ones that are always updated? and will that stop the "Whims_Tracker Error" from appearing so much every now and then in my game?

 

I'd appreciate the help and advice!

Sounds like an outdated mod that adds custom Whims/traits to your game, check for updates for those.

Ok, so your saying that its fine to use old/not updated WW Animations with new/updated ones in the game together without any issues? I'm looking around my other mods now for anything else that could cause those issues.

Alright, so while looking into those Whims/Traits mods, If they have invalid tuning, then I'll have to delete them but what if the creators haven't updated their mods? Some are fine while others just got removed. Do you recommend any updated trait mods with active creators?

Almost every old trait, and a ton of aspirations, were broken in a patch like a year ago - and the most recent patch broke even more (which is where the tuning stuff is coming from)

 

Chingyu's traits all work, and Nisa's traits that come with her mod (make sure you have the most updated versions of both)

 

The only other active creator I know of is FalseHope - who fixed a lot of the broken traits, including the "Adult," ones (Tight, Slut, Bimbo, Horny, Fuckboy, etc) and added a few of their own: https://www.patreon.com/YourFalseHope

Much appreciated on the response, I looked into my mods folder and sure enough I had some broken traits/aspirations mods installed. I'm still looking for broken objects that need to be updated for their animations but Nisa's mods are always updated lol it's a must for roleplay saves but imma try out Chingyu's and FalseHope traits though!

I'd also reccomend downloading More Traits in CAS - let's you have like 5 traits for adult sims and 4 for teens. I really like it as I find it let's you roleplay a bit more (it doesn't feel like a waste to pick Vegetarian or something.)

You dont need the Chingyu compatible version unless you have Chingyu's mod "MoreTraitsMod_Options" installed (which you dont if you just get Chingyu's 100 traits)

Haha, I already have that mod installed. Its pretty nice to have 4 and/or 5 traits at one time instead of just three! I've installed some of KiaraSims4Mods & Kuttoe updated traits mods and things went back smoothly. I wanna try Chingyu's trait mods but got overwhelmed by seeing 100 traits in one category lol but It's pretty useful though. Thanks again!

I have some really old ones installed and there aren't any issues with them in terms of crashing your game.

 

Some of them can be sort of basic, or they may not have sound at all. Any complaints would really usually just be about their simplicity compared to whats out there now - as opposed to them actually breaking anything.

 

For some creators, they no longer make sure those animations work anymore, as they're old and their work has moved on past the basic stuff. 

Like I said, i've never had any of the old ones break anything. The worst thing that's happened was a few of them just wouldn't start the animation for me - but nothing else happened.

I just thought that having old mods would break the game and cause errors/lag, I understand some CC would break in CAS or Live/Build Buy Mode and others don't, Some other mods & animations still shows up in Last Exception Error Report but just wanted to verify twice.. So far Everything seems fine when in gameplay, removed a good amount of old mods and updated/added some new ones. much appreciated on everyone's response. Happy Holidays & Happy Simming!

No problem! 

 

There's some old CC Beds on here that can cause the game to behave weirdly - but all you need to do is "Batch Fix," your mods folder in Sims 4 Studio.

Other than that the only other stuff I see causing a lot of lastexceptions are usually when people have old Traits that don't work anymore.

Sounds great! yeah I gladly haven't experienced any error in traits yet like before, but you recommend that I "Batch Fix" CAS, Objects, & Misc and all of the options in their categories just to be safe while fixing Objects?

I wouldn't batch fix everything with every option - apparently it can break some CC if you batch fix it when you dont need too.

 

But it's safe to use the "Fix Bed Slots," batch fix and "Fix CC Showers," and "Fix CC Bathtubs," as i've done it a few times on my whole Mods folder.

 

The program will just skip the CC if the batch fix doesn't apply to it - and an original copy of the file is saved to your computer just incase.
