Zquad1
Hey everyone I am trying to figure out how to get any Armor to have a semi-transparent look. I have tried a couple things with messing around with the Gradient tool, & I have I think figured out how to get the Mesh setup for it using the method from this tutorial---> How to make some parts of an armor transparent translucent invisible disappear But I am having issues with the texture, so in the tutorial it uses photoshop, well I personally don't use it, I use Paint.net. Now I created a see through texture....well kind of. This is what I have made----> as you can tell a few things don't look right, like the tattoo's show through but in an unusual way, & the Panties under the dress is black but seem white. & I want the texture very transparent just like the arm sleeves How did I get this? you ask? ok here is what I did. I loaded up the texture then I clicked on "TOOLS" then "GRADIENT" then I noticed a color cyrcle & I clicked that & chose Transparency mode. & then I went up to Adjustments & selected "GRADIENT MAPPING" & then I chose "CUSTOM", "LUMINOSITY", "OFFSET to 220" & then Wrap then I clicked ok then I saved. so after all that what am I doing wrong?? PLEASE HELP!!! Link to comment

Zquad1
Ok I am trying to figure this out perhaps I am doing it right IDK But I am very unsure, I have made this Dress transparent using Gimp 2.6 but as you can see the shadows on the dress are way to dark, & the transparency is to much but I have tried several ways to get the transparency I am after, but it will either give me a solid color or all clear nothing in between, & when I go to "Save As" I get several Options, which option do I need?? here is what I am seeing: Link to comment
