Maintenance Needed - Very Uncomfortable Moodlet

Recommended Posts

I was going through and assigning traits to my lead male heir sim, and for some reason I cannot rid him of this particular moodlet that appears anytime he travels or I go and come back to the family to play. It has "Uncomfortable +15" and causes him to just be in a foul mood 24/7 as it lasts 24 hours or so. It says he needs brainwashing maintenance, but he is a dom sim and even when I use the brainwashing machine it doesn't get rid of the moodlet. I can manually remove the moodlet in the MCC, however it reappears anytime I travel again, etc. Any answers? I have not been able to find any info on this out there, thanks a lot.

Have you tried removing the brainwashing machine from your Mods folder? If you do, remember to delete "localthumbcache.package", found in "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4", before you launch the game and keep in mind that saving the game will cause all information related to the machine (placement on your Sim's home lot, brainwashing for all Sims in your game etc.) to be lost.

However, assuming that this changes anything, you can check your Sim's moodlets and traits with and without the machine present in your game that way. Chances are that your Sim has some hidden buff which triggers the moodlet, so if you can identify that (it's only present when the machine is), removing it when the machine is present in the game again (remember "localthumbcache") should fix the issue.

Alternatively, you can of course save the game without the machine present (maybe use "Save As" to create an entirely new save), then put it back into your Mods folder (remember "localthumbcache") and go through brainwashing all of your Sims again.
