I always see values there like 0, 3, 5, 8, 10, 15. But what does that mean exactly?

Detection Sound Value
Here I have often seen with circlets or helmets a value 76 or so, only for what?

Unknown (under Detection Sound Value)
Here, the values often vary between 16 and 18, but what are they for? Also, I have not yet been able to find out a rule when which value would be necessary.

Leather produces less noise than metal. NPC will detect you earlier when wearing heavy armor.
