AyamePasse Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 (edited) I don't come here often, but a friend said I was more likely to get help here than on the Nexus. I'm trying to FINALLY make the switch to SSE. A single body mod (and its requirements) in, and I'm already having issues. I installed BodySlide, BHUNP, SkyUI, RaceMenu, XPMSE (and I've tried it with and without SMP, CBPC, CBPC 3-bone, and various combinations of the three), and built my body (I've tried ver 2, and ver 3) for a vanilla female in BodySlide with .tri files. In-game, the body and its physics work fine. But while the BHUNP 3BBB Morphs tab shows up in RaceMenu, it is completely empty of all sliders. I've tried a new game with every troubleshooting attempt, but it's always empty. My load order is as follows (I've also tried it with RaceMenuMorphsBHUNP.esp loaded below XPMSE): # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer. Skyrim.esm Update.esm Dawnguard.esm HearthFires.esm Dragonborn.esm SkyUI_SE.esp RaceMenu.esp RaceMenuPlugin.esp BHUNP3BBB.esp RaceMenuMorphsBHUNP.esp XPMSE.esp My mod list (I've tried various other orders besides this one, and, again, have tried with and without various combinations of SMP, CBPC, and CBPC 3-bone)): # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer. +XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended +BHUNP +CBPC 3-Bone Breast Body Breast-Butt Bounce Configs for 3BA-BHUNP-COCO +CBPC - Physics with Collisions +HDT-SMP for SSE 1.5.97 v2.11 +BodySlide v5.6 +RaceMenu +SkyUI *DLC: Dawnguard *DLC: Dragonborn *DLC: HearthFires I can't imagine there's a conflict, since I that's all I have installed... So am I missing something instead?? Edit: I do have SKSE64 installed as well. My game version is 1.5.97, so I installed Special Edition build 2.0.20. Edit 2: Realized I forgot FNIS. Installed it, ran it without errors, issue persists. Edit 3: Thinking maybe newer versions of these mods didn't support my version of Skyrim, I tried switching to versions from before the anniversary update (XPMSE 4.8, and, being impossible to download BHUNP 2.40, I had to try the only old SE version I had on my computer, 2.13V), and still had the same issue. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Edited September 18, 2022 by AyamePasse Typo
AyamePasse Posted September 20, 2022 Author Posted September 20, 2022 I still need help with this. My issue doesn't seem to be listed in any of the FAQs on the Nexus BHUNP page, and I'd hate to give up on SSE when I've barely started.
shrtjsrtj Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) Have you tried opening racemenu after playing for a while(a few seconds is usually enough for me)? For whatever reason some of the menu's don't show up during character creation for me, but will be there after starting the game. Other than that you didn't list what version of racemenu you have, it needs to be 4.16 for SE version 1.5.97. Edit: I'd also install Alternate Start for faster testing and make sure all the plugins are enabled, Vortex doesn't always enable plugins but no idea about MO2. Edited September 20, 2022 by shrtjsrtj

I had that happen with both CBBE-3BBB and BHUNP installs in the past. Maybe some subtle load order change or pilot error installing or some overwrite I wasn't paying attention to, or whatever. If the BHUNP menu is coming up totally empty, my inclination would be to reinstall BHUNP. Make sure to add any "bonus" features in the fomod. I recall there being some issue when you ignored certain checkboxes, but it's been a very very long time).

I've reinstalled it several times, but with very little changes to my selections, so I'll try that next chance I get.

Hmm, yes, I've definitely played a bit and still had them not be there, but I'll double check my version of RaceMenu. Thanks!

Being so new to SE, and having not had to deal with game updates for so long, I just assumed that I needed the most recent version of RaceMenu. Out of curiosity, are there any caveats to updating my SE? Will that make older SE mods incompatible? Will I need to start using mods made for AE even though I don't technically have it, and have to worry about ones that haven't been created for AE not working at all??

As far as I know the issue is mostly to do with SKSE. When Bethesda updates Skyrim, SKSE needs to be updated and then mods that use SKSE also need to be updated if they want to support the latest version. If a mod doesn't use SKSE it'll probably be fine no matter the version of SE, but since some mods don't get updated and some modders remove older versions of their mods there's no right answer on if you should update or not. That's my understanding anyway, there's no doubt more to it than that.

I guess I should have switched a lot sooner, but I didn't think I'd be able to convert any mods I can't live without that aren't already converted... And I'm still unsure whether I can or not... I'm still afraid I'll quickly come across one that proves impossible.

Another question: Since BHUNP itself ALSO has an SKSE folder, do I need an older version of that too if I want the physics to work right? I have working breast and butt physics in my game, but they do seem a bit wonky. However, I also know that SMP controller files can be placed outside the SKSE folder as well (such as in with the armor they control), and that, with proper optimization, SMP meshes made for Special Edition can often work in Legendary Edition, so I'm unsure... Edit: I've heard about problems with LE dll files not working in SE. Are those the only ones I need to worry about not being compatible with both AE and SE, or is it all SKSE files? shrtjsrtj Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 I misspoke earlier and it seems it's SKSE plugins that may have issues with versioning. The latest versions of BHUNP, Faster SMP(or normal SMP if you prefer) and CBPC should all work fine with SE. Nexus mods almost always have AE/SE/VR, the version number supported(1.5.97 for SE) or Anniversary/Special Edition in the title or description when you download them if they need a specific version of Skyrim. Racemenu has Anniversary Edition in the title but it's still dumb for not having SKSE in the required mods field. There's a tracker here for the latest AE version compatibilities as well as conversion from oldrim which may be helpful: Not sure what your issue is with physics, but the latest version of BHUNP(v3.14) doesn't have CBPConfig_BBP.txt so UNP clothes don't have breast physics. I had to grab a copy from an older version of BHUNP to get them to work.

The file name was "RaceMenu Special Edition v0-4-19-9-2.7z". But I still had to downgrade to 4.16 to get it working. As for the physics, the main issue I'm having is twitching buttcheeks, lol. Everything else seems to be fine (so far), so who knows what could be the cause. Thank you for the link! I'll give it a read as soon as possible. I've found this community to be very helpful, and I really appreciate it! I'll make sure to look at my only other version of BHUNP (I no longer have the FOMOD, only a folder from my mods backup, so I don't have access to any options, sadly), for that txt file. Thank you again!
