Connector196 Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 (edited) So I'm using SAM Light for the men and CBBE 3BA for the women (pelvis collision, not direct collision). I'm using the latest versions of everything: FSMP, CBPC, 3BA, SAM Light... I've noticed that I'm getting this annoying problem that I've been ripping my hair out trying to fix. I never used to have this problem, but now it's just bonkers. Here are some videos with a human and also a troll (just to show you how it looks with creatures. It doesn't matter which creature, they all have the same effect). Why is this happening? Is it the collisions that are messed up or is everything just wack? Honestly, I have no idea and it's driving me insane. This never used to happen... Gameplayer Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Jittery physics is related to FPS. Keep the FPS consistent and the problem should resolve itself.
Connector196 Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 My framerate is usually very consistent, so I don't think it's a FPS problem. This hasn't happened before, and my FPS and game are the same as they always have been.
anjenthedog Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) I think I had some luck a long time ago with a similar (if not the exact same issue) by either increasing or reducing the collision radius a little for several settings (vag and/or penis, and/or the main CBPC Collison config) in the collisions ini files (/SKSE Plugins/ afaik). Unfortunately, it's been so long that I don't remember anything specific about it, other than the general "taste" of the actions. However, there are a few threads about CBPC collisions from back ~2019-21 that served as the source for the changes I made, so maybe a widenet search on "skyrim special edition CBPC collisions collision spheres" might cough up relevant threads. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=skyrim+special+edition+CBPC+collisions+spheres&ia=web good luck PS> Note: I think it happens because the colliding object's collision spheres and the collided object's collision spheres are just the right values and distances from each other to cause it to oscillate. A "true" solution would likely be either adding more collision spheres in an overlapping chain, to more accurately mimic a planar or cylindrical sensing grid, (ie a topologically uniform surface of contact) or speculatively, by using an entirely different geometry for CBPC than spheres (but that one's probably reaching a bit far). As is now, afaik collision spheres are like a string of balls, so inbetween them, the response is zero. Edited September 17, 2022 by anjenthedog more stuffs, always more stuffs
Connector196 Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) I've tried increasing and decreasing the radii for collisions before, and that didn't seem to help much. I believe CBPC introduced a new 'capsule' shape very recently, and that's what I find in the collision configs. I don't think that there would be an issue with the spheres and space in between, since there is a capsule that surrounds and fills in those spaces. I know I tried something that seemed to help stabilize the vagina, but the weird 'refreshing' was still apparent... I truly can't figure this one out. This problem even happens using just the base CBBE and CBPC with the absolute default files for my body shape. Nothing else. Edited September 17, 2022 by Connector196
traison Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 As far as I know that's where we're at with CBPC collisions right now. If I had to guess it's because the profile you use hasn't migrated over to using the new cylinder collision shapes made available in later versions of CBPC. Basically when dealing with traditional CBPC collisions you should think of them more like beads, ie. that dong might be the equivalent of 3 invisible beads. The "jittering" you're seeing is just the space between the beads. I'm just waiting for a competent editor to drop so that I don't have to spend 20 minutes per dong in NifSkope fiddling with NiNodes trying to eyeball the offsets. Then I'd switch over to cylinders immediately.
Connector196 Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 I'm using CBPC 1.5.3, and I believe that has capsules already, since I looked in 3BA's config files and they were there. I do find it kind of weird how there is a capsule along with the spheres, since it seems unnecessary to have the spheres if the capsule provides most of the collision. It doesn't seem to matter though, since even with just the capsule, the jitter still happens. Unless the spheres are still being detected... but they are smaller in radius than the capsule. I'll keep fiddling around with things to see if anything comes from it. And yes, having a visual editor would be fantastic. It would definitely be less painful than current method that you described.
Connector196 Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) I think I'm making progress. I've been editing the pelvis node radius and location, and it seems that things have stabilized a little bit. Now it seems that the vagina just refreshes sometimes, and I can't tell why it's happening. I have yet to test my new edits on creatures, though. It might all go downhill from there lol. Spoiler Skyrim Special Edition 2022-09-17 18-16-01.mp4 EDIT: I don't know why the 'refreshing' doesn't show up in the video. It's clearly there when I'm in-game, so that's a bit weird. CBPC is the most stable I've ever had it since then, but it would be nice to be on the later versions. I don't know if this will help anyone else, but it helped me. 1

You have indeed helped me so thanks for this! ?
traison Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Latest version (1.5.7) has improved vag collisions, among other things. This still doesn't fix issues with a bad config though - it's not supposed to.
