I too am interested in this, been playing this game for a while now and its fun and relaxing and the player model is rather sexy (especially on the thicc body type). Kind of surprised that there doesn't seem to be much interest in getting this game modded.

So just adding to this, think it will be a possibility as over on the Nexus there is a mod to inject textures based off of your own .png. maybe the first steps in to better mods.

I've heard that Unity games (which I think this is one) can be challenging, so we'll see. As someone with no mod development knowledge, all I can do is hope, and offer support and encouragement to any talented individuals willing to spend their free time bringing nudity to Dreamlight Valley!

There are already some mods for the game using BepInEx and one mod is for creating Custom Textures.  Personally I be happy with being able to add some bulges and a bit of body shaping.  Hopefully someone can use these links are make some hot mods...

Alright, I got tired of waiting for something that really shouldn't be too much of a challenge from what I can see (though I won't claim that I really know much about it). I really want nude mods for this game and I think it's ridiculous that no-one seems to be doing anything about it. So, I decided to take the initiative. I know extremely little about modding so you'll have to excuse the current state of my attempt. But Hopefully this will inspire others to start messing around with the files as well.

 

Basically I spent an hour or two learning how to extract files and searching for the files I wanted. Then I quickly tested how things worked and everything was surprisingly easy to mess with. All I've done is change the texture files but I'd personally say that the outcome is quite decent. Especially for having just started working on it.

 

I used 2 different outfits for my initial tests:

Low-Boot Incredibles Suit

Festive Holiday Dress

 

This is the result of about 4-5 hours of work

(I used the Custom Textures mod to insert my own textures into the game)

Those looked pretty good for having just started working on it as you said. Like some others have if we could get some great nude mods and potentially even some sex mods in this game, it'd be great.

This is looking amazing! i too have been amazed that no one has been working on a nude mod for this game. Look forward to the first nude mode releases, and im sure the more you work on it the more you will learn and the better it will get, thank you for making a start on it.

Is there such a nude model already existed inside the original game files? Dunno where to find this and which file it came from.

Nvm, found it. Thought that every female characters have their own nude models, more like the above is just a generic one.

 

Update2:

Did a quick mod test by removing the mesh.

Turns out that even the main character does not have nude model underneath.

What did you use to change the mesh? I tried digging into it with UABE but it kept failing to extract it.

 

And yea, similar to the the way that all characters with skirts have fully detached legs, the player avatar also has absolutely nothing underneath their clothing, unfortunately. I was going to try to make a mod to change the model but I got stuck because UABE is absolutely broken and I'm currently searching for a replacement. Also, now that I've started on this project, I simply cannot stop myself so I'm gonna be spending quite a bit of time on trying to get this to actually work.

 

Side note: I tried messing with the mannequin textures since they have a fully shaped body, but the moment you so much as touch those textures, they break immediately and start glowing with weird lines everywhere. I have however managed to make them skin colored instead of grey. Only trying to apply actual textures onto them seems to cause it to break.

UABE not very good to use. Use UABEA instead to repack, but use AssetGui to extract .fbx files.

 

Well, I dunno about the textures yet since I haven't tried changing it.

 

Changing the mesh is the same technique and tools that I used to mod Stranded Deep game in its thread. I'll write it here later though.
