What does the [?] mean in an NPC dialogue box???

Can someone please explain the "[O]" to me. I'm quite new at this game, but I have no idea why there are that set of characters at the end of the question. I've pressed the letter "O" thinking it will do something but it doesn't. I've had other options where the letters are "T" and "H" and nothing happens as a result of pressing those keys on my keyboard. Is there another HUD I am to bring up? If so, how do I do that? When I click on my sim or the NPC I have zero follow up options to this. Please anyone help this noob out.

These letters in brackets denote the type of sex that a Sim would like - "T" for "Teasing", "O" for "Oral" and so on.
