So I'm able to get the main FNIS exe installed and running just fine, but every time I try to add the creature pack it keeps asking me to merge, replace, etc. Is this something I'm gonna have to fix by directly placing the archive where I have my mods being installed to?

Not sure what you're doing but, if in doubt, rename the mod you're trying to install and place it lower in the load order than whatever it is conflicting with. Best of both worlds.

I used Vortex before, and it handled FNIS seamlessly. MO2 is what's giving me the conflicting error message. I'll try your advice though and see if it works

It's not a conflicting message. You're installing 2 files from the same mod page, they'll end up named exactly the same. MO is asking you what do you want to do with the files from your existing FNIS mod and the new files.

  • pick merge and you'll get both sets of files in the same folder
  • pick replace and you'll remove the base FNIS files in order to place the FNIS creature pack ones in there
  • pick rename and the FNIS creature pack will be installed under a different name leaving the base FNIS intact

Given that FNIS is completely done and won't receive further updates you can safely merge both files into the same folder, or if for whatever reason you want to have them separated you can also do that. What you do is up to you.

So just so that I understand what you said, once MO gives me the prompt asking me what I want to do, if I pick merge it'll combine the contents of the two mods as I'd expect it to be so if I was still using Vortex?

Combines mods as far as files go, it will for instance not merge the contents of esp/esm files. As far as I know, installing FNIS should not result in a conflict like this, hence my confusion. Then again, I do things differently most of the time, so what do I know.

Yes, the files from FNIS and the FNIS creature pack will be merged into the same install folder.

I have no idea how Vortex does this, but I see it does it automatically.
