Required Addons?

I am new to modding the sims, and haven't seen a mention of required addons anywhere in the mod descriptions (Wicked Whims and others).
Do they work with the base game, or is it assumed that a player has all or a specific set of addons?

Normally, mods state what they require in terms of both addons and other mods on their download pages (e.g. Nisa's Wicked Perversions requiring WickedWhims or RedAppleNet requiring Get To Work). Some mods have specific features with requirements different from those of the mod in general (e.g. WW strip clubs requiring Get To Work, while the rest of WW will work fine without it), but these are also often stated in the mod or feature description. It can take some reading, though, especially with big mods like WW.

 

If you can't find that information for some mod or certain things don't work and you don't have a clue why, just ask (and keep in mind that there is no such thing as a stupid question). That's what the "Get Support" button on the download pages and the general support forums are for, after all.
