What's the best platform for installing skyrim mods?

I'm looking into modding Skyrim and it's a bit daunting to say the least coming from Oblivion. I know of NMM and Mod Organizer, as well as Steam Workshop. I've tried all three of them but I wasn't satisfied with any of them. Mod Organizer requires me to launch from it's launcher, Steam Workshop is limited to Steam, and then there's NMM...

So, what modding platform do you guys recommend a beginner to use? I apologize if this is a common question, or if there the information if stickied or something. I don't traverse this section that often.

Don't use steam, only use it to get the data for the mod then either use NMM or MO to install them. Steam auto updates mods whether you want it too or not. which can cause many problems with other mods >.<

I dont have any problems with steamworkshop with its auto updates tbh, and i install manual/steam/nmm.. and start skyrim with skse on nmm.

Imo Wrye Bash is still by far the best one, which is surprisingly not listed by you. Not only that you can easily see what mesh/texture is overwritten by what mod and counter that, you have also the possibility to create a Bashed Patch that reduces incombatibilitys with leveled lists and more.

There's also the integrated Launcher for Skse, CK, BOSS and TESVEdit.

And though it's still wip and with that a long way till they reach the class of Oblivions Wrye Bash, it's already the best way to manage your Mods.

It may take you a view more moments to understand how everything works, but it's a minimal prize for all this features.

Imo using anything else than Wrye Bash or Mod Organizer is inviting disaster. I honestly don't know why NMM is so popular, it's only an automated way to copy your stuff into the data folder, the only control over priority is the order you install in.

I've learned it the hard way on Oblivion, use something decent with priority control, aka Wrye Bash or Mod Organizer. The latter is the cleanest solution as it doesn't pollute your data folder at all, unfortunatly it lacks some features of Wrye Bash, otherwise I'd switch immediately.
