Ark of Truth
I take it you don't have any mods installed currently? You have gone into My Documents\My Games and deleted the Skyrim folder from there? Link to comment
Madmartigan34
Well. I installed the game and then did install mods, yes. I'm currently running quite a few that I've used for some time now. But I've never had this happen before. Should I delete that folder now? Link to comment
Ark of Truth
It could be one of the mods is causing names in settings to change. Yes, then run the game using the Steam launcher so it rebuilds and then try again. Link to comment
Madmartigan34
Deleted the skyrim folder and all that. Didn't fix it. Sad, face. Link to comment
Ark of Truth
Try disabling all your mods and see if it still does it. If that doesn't work you will need to contact Steam support. Link to comment
Madmartigan34
Yeah. I'm uninstalling all the mods right now. And deleting the game from the PC. Then i'll reinstall it... and see how it looks without any mods. If its STILL GOING ON without any mods... I'll be really... upset. Link to comment
myuhinny
Usually it is caused by a mod that has files that are not in english I have some words in my game that now have $ at spots in words not that it bothers me I already know what everything is. It happened after using files for HDT and once I placed them into the correct file they appeared. Link to comment
Madmartigan34
I figured it out. Thanks for your help, ya'll. Link to comment
neo_weiner
One way to find out what which mod is messing with your menus is to turn off all you mods, then turn on a few mods at a time until you find the culprit. Its kind of a pain to do it this way though especially if you have a lot of mods. As for the combat sounds going missing, it might be due to a mod looking for a sound folder/file thats not where it should be. Do you have any mod that changes the combat sounds? Link to comment
Madmartigan34
Yeah, I generally do that as a last resort. Link to comment
