The current controversy and anger of the community with the new Wicked Whims update

Is a total shame that Turbodriver went on a guilt or moral conscience streak. And fine, is okay and morally correct that he doesn't allow sex between adults and teens, but erasing the feature between teens and other teens is just the worst decision he could have done and I will tell you why, but before that there is another point I want to touch and clarify...

 

Without even warning about the deletion of the interactions between teens to his Patreons (That PAY for the mod development) and a community that has always supported him, is just a coward move. Ruining almost everyone's experience and wasting their time invested on their saves, storylines and playthrough because now he simply doesn't feel like or that EA added ambiguity on teens interactions, that's the primal reason why people are mad. 

 

But the most annoying part is that he is being hypocritical or at least faking his previous actions in the community. Since before this update, he allowed sex interactions between teens and even with adults or weirder stuff like incest in previous releases and it was “fine”, because it can be turned off/on and was an add-on.

But that's not the reason why I think he is being hypocritical. The real reason, is that he deleted his older links of version 170h, which allowed sexual interactions between teens and adults, but changing it in less than 3 days so it won't be compatible with the current version of the game (At least for me and other people saves with constant errors of WW) and wanting to hide it with an in-game pop up of version 170i and a WICKED TRAIT, not allowing others to download the previous version from his website and LoversLab archive. And also limiting the way of the users to play the game, just making a censor strike of the bad ones if you don't agree with his actions.

 

And then there are these moron people, starting calling pedophiles everyone that isn't agreeing with them, and here is why they are wrong...

 1- First, in a game mod that once allowed sex between teens and even adults, that YOU moral idiot once download it. And now that the game has been deleted, you start complaining about other people's opinions about how the update totally destroyed their saves and their playthroughs, insulting them and taking the “moral” part out of context to feel socially correct.

That only makes you a total hypocrite and a fool to say less.

 

 2- Second, and the most controversial topic between the community.

The term teen in the Sims 4 had always started at the sim's age from 16 to 19, (Which is consent age in real life in almost every country). And why I remark this, because the game gives teen Sims almost identical bodies to adult sims and CONSENT to do "Woohoo" interactions with other teens. On the other hand I can totally see why Turbodriver didn't want adult teen relationships, but deleting the complete feature on teens romance is just wrong and not even supported by EA's gameplay.

 

 3- Third and to shut this topic, no, that's NOT pedophile because they are NOT prepubertals like some morons said (age between 10 and 15) or KIDS. They aren't doing "Woohoo" interactions with adults or even older/younger sims.

They go to highschool, which is where 80% of people have their first sexual intercourse. And to say less teenage sims have consent of sexual/romance interactions with other teens ON BASE GAME… And if you think kids can give consent, really search for help in jail. Besides, the game emphasizes it so many times that I'm getting tired of writing it over and over again. 

 

 4- Fourth and one of the most annoying reactions between the community. The Sims 4 is a GAME, if you think that a simulation program with pixels will affect your mental health or others, making them pedophiles, rapists or violent members of society... Karen's argument, just ignorant and totally invalid in a 18+ forum.  

 

 5- And fifth and last, sex is natural BETWEEN TEENS in real life, hiding and censoring it in such a brazen way is like trying to hide the sun with your finger. But directly deleting it without warning and no logical response from the creator will make the mod just get worse and worse. And opens the opportunity to more sexually explicit external programs and negative criticism of the community, like the reviews already showed.

 

(And to be honest I agree [you might not and is fine] with Turbodriver wanting to censor the kind of relationships between adults/elders and teens and incest. But not the teens/teens relationships. And one thing is clear, people who sexualize kids and are searching material for such bullshit, are not only doing illegal stuff but are disgusting in so many freaking ways that they deserve to be imprisoned for life, but this is NOT and will never be the case I'm exposing right now).

 

The solutions:

1- Turbodriver should have announced and made an in-game feature not allowing sex between teens and adults and people could have understand it and agreed, or in the worst of the cases made an extra link add-on like to the previous updates. But deleting the interactions between teens and other teens, thinking it will be for the better... Is just wrong, besides he made that change without asking or warning anyone that supported him and just thinking on his personal opinion and for last involving it on his JOB, is unprofessional and unrealistic even in EA's supported gameplay.

 

2- Add more ingame lifestages to teens. Since some morals hypocrites might see teens as kids, even though it is clarified in the post, comment section, some mods of LL and even by EA supported gameplay. That Sims 4 TEENS are hardly children or had nothing to do with kids, giving em consent of some "Woohoo" interactions and romances and nobody made much of a problem of them having sex in WW before. 

 

3- I give the credit of this idea to Wild_guy, to automatically add the wicked trait function after the game triggers the "event" of post-puberty, or some quantity of days in stage life of the sim (If you are using the automatic aging). It should have saved lots of time and the madness of the community and not allowed the download of external mods that are not supported by the TD or LL community.

 

Hope he reads this topic, because everyone right now is angry and overreacting about this change (So do I). And maybe some people might be saying in the comment section: "Hey now we have EXTERNAL mods that reimplements this feature".

Yes we do have that, but that we have to look for an external solution and to be fair more sexual explicit, for something that was ALREADY implemented before this update, gives a lot to say about the development of the mod and those on community that supports these kind of content.

 

And the popular opinion right now is that Turbodriver is destroying or at least making worse the mod he once created and having invested years of development and making the community separated because of the previous topics exposed and that he doesn't hear or read the complaints... Wicked Whims will only get worse, since the current update didn't touch this topic to update or clarify why this change besides his personal thoughts and probably won't.

 

And lastly, I do not support the harassment against TD even though I think some of his actions are hypocritical or even block headed by ignoring his community. Or support to anyone that expresses fake accusations of harassment against someone that thinks his/her counter point of view is incorrect.

One thing is justified anger because it damages the time spent of your playthrough and storylines. Then there are these idiots literally insulting, accusing and wishing death to the mod creator or the ones that have different points of view of them.

Turbodriver has always been a bit of a twit.  Just look at all the garbage around Devious Desires (no I don't know the full story, I don't care) and it becomes crystal clear that Turbodriver and company are trying to force their morality and opinions onto others, to the detriment of the community.

 

I am here to get mods for games, not an ethics lesson. 

 

For all who don't know, there are good viable alternatives to Wicked Whims, use those instead.  To be honest they seem more stable and when using them I get less errors. 

Clearly Turbodriver let real world people know about his mod and now they have applied pressure for him to change the mod to suit their moral code. 

I do think it's a dick slap in the face to all the people who PAID good money for his mod, I hope they take their money elsewhere.

To Turbodriver, grow a backbone, and grow up.

Lost. The game is dead. I play mostly with older women and myself. I've programmed photorealistic copies of my real women in there. It was fun.
The game's dead now, 5,000 mods beyond repair.
If I'd known that, I'd have had my internet disconnected for a year.
I have a lot of old games that I never update for these very reasons.

 

They'll never fix this again. Can't even load the game. Not a single new mod worked.

When I first started using WW a few years ago, we also needed the inappropriate unlock for having teens engaging in sex. I'm not tech savvy at all, but it was just a minor hitch to pass. Now, the unlock is back, and it's still a minor hitch to pass. My expectation is that teenage sex will be reimplemented in the base mod eventually, once the current game emphasis on teenagers and current EA emphasis on mods have blown over.

The popular opinion in some quarters. Not in other. Do not conflate online outrage with the feelings of the majority of the user base. I have played a number of games where the crowd active on online fora was shaped by a small, but very vocal minority. Only time will tell whether you are right about your assertion that Turbodriver has ruined the mod or not is true, I'm not holding my breath though.

Do you have a program to detect defective mods ? ? I have inside game only 1 last version from Atrois and sex not work.

First, take out mods and save/tray files. Then go to Origin and left click on the Sims game. That will give you an option to repair game.

 

Put in mods half of them at at time and try starting the game for each time. That way you will quickly deiscover what mods are acting up. Put in the tray/save files last.

I delete whole game and reinstal complet new. This is this some way. And not work.

By deleting the whole game and installing a new one I also got the fixes in the game automatically.

I'm not really one who voices my opinion because I'm only here in the forums because it's an outlet for me to create stories, but for a while now I've harbored resentment to the people who run this forum and thought about just outright leaving multiple times. Recent events just solidified that.

And since they deleted my counterpoint last time, here I am to say it again without "meany" words...

 

Sorry but I can't agree with you on this one, deleting something that was already implemented and is about the 90% of people complains in the current reviews of WW, reddit, patreon and loverslab is not a "quarter" or even a minority of users as you assume. Is more likely that ones that accept such treatment from the developer are the minority of the game base users. Almost every post and content creator of Lovers Lab had talked about this and not supporting the current change on TEENS with TEENS. And more likely a majority of the user base is against that change, it literally breaks to many saves and playthroughs. 

 

Something similar happened with the Genshin Impact anniversary, and so far as everyone remembers the whole community was outrageous. And thinking that as minor hitch just allow the creator (In this case Turbodriver) to ignore feedbacks of his community and patreons and to don't care about the current complains, as Hoyoverse did. Don't conflate the community disappointment and negative opinion as a minor thread or low %, cause is not. 

 

But so far Turbodriver hasn't even touched this topic and we can assume he won't cause the last update from 170j and hiding it with a Wicked Trait and a censoring pop up, is not only a misleading move but not a solution of this. And to "fix" something that was intentionally made to break your own mod system, with external links. To some players and me it seems like worsening your mod and not a long term solution for the users. 

 

Fine, if you think it's okay for the developer to delete that feature without the feedback of his community and patreons. To not say that you have to fix it EVERY new update with an external mod for a long term, sure go ahead and we will respect your opinion. But please, don't assume we'll tolerate that "hitch" an censor for me or the other % of the community in a long term scenario.

The current problem is that YOU the user of the mod have to install something that was already implemented as an extra mlink and that doesn't work properly to say less on ingame saves.

Second is the hypocrisy of Turbodriver deleting this feature and trying to hide it with that Wicked trait and ingame pop up.

And third, deleting a perfectly functional update like 170h that ALREADY implemented the topics in the post, to make it buggy on purpose and deleting its links. Yes that's the problem and also that TD doesn't care about the patreons opinion and constantly censors members opinions that aren't agreeing with him. Anything else?
