As you can see on the screenshot I used -u argument when importing so it should not be compressed, right?. As I said, I also tried to shrink the mesh and that worked using 1.3.3 tools, the problem is when I try to delete mesh using 1.3.3

Hmm I don’t know then. Sorry I do not support the NISA version, since I don’t have it. I’ll purchase it when it has English language.

any chance to convert the nude mods here to MDL for the NISA version?

was hoping the ones in kuro 2 thread would work but sadly the game crashes.

You can use KuroMDLTools from amorrow28 to convert 3DMigoto mods to mdl files.

I was gonna try it but sadly too complicated for me. I have absolutely no technical experience and it's rather confusing for me when I tried. I also do not have time to learn sadly.

I would really like to get coomi's nude mods ported if anyone is willing and have time (pubes included)

This mod replaces the girls' bathing outfits with nude bodies. I have sculpted everyone's breasts to roughly match the original body mesh under the towel. The bodies will display during the bathing/sauna scenes or if you have the bathing outfit equipped.

I haven't gotten very far into the game yet so I may have missed someone. Here's a list of who is included:

• Agnes

• Feri

• Fie

• Judith

• Naje

• Nina

• Risette

• Saara

• Shahina

Changelog:

1.0.1 - Fixed a problem with Risette's neck. Added optional pubic hair for Agnes, Feri, Risette

1.0.0 - Initial release

Downloads:

If you do not have 3DMigoto installed, download this package:

NudeBathing 1.0.1 +3DMigoto.7z 5.46 MB · 960 downloads

If you already have 3DMigoto installed, download this instead:

NudeBathing 1.0.1 - Bodies only.7z 3.37 MB · 717 downloads

Optional pubic hair

image.png.f30fc60f46d9fe3d09758c0c394e63c3.png

This is an optional add-on that adds 3D pubic hair to Agnes, Feri and Risette. The pubes replace the towel mesh that is otherwise hidden.

Thanks to EliteCheat on the nexus for the meshes.

NudeBathing 1.0.1 - Pubic hair.7z 1.23 MB · 352 downloads

Installation:

Extract the contents of the packages you downloaded into the game's root folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\THE LEGEND OF HEROES KURO NO KISEKI). If you are updating from a previous version, overwrite all files when asked.

welp I tried but only got up to extracting the original MDL file.

I just can't figure out what to open here on blender to check which files to replace with the 3DM files

I could really use a more detailed intruction. Can you help @amorrow28 in converting these 3DM mods to MDL?

I cannot, I do not have access to my computer for a couple of weeks so I am unable to load the game or take screenshots. It is a straightforward process if you already know how to make mods, and impossible to understand if you do not. So I urge you to first learn how to make mods. All my tutorials are on the very first post of this thread.

Ultimately, the process comes down to:

1. Unpack the mdl

2. Open the meshes in blender and identify which will be replaced, removed, kept unmodified etc.

3. Replace meshes with the modded ones. Delete unneeded meshes. Etc.

4. Edit the metadata to point to the new textures.

5. Pack the MDL again.

You can see why you should be familiar with the modding process, since the steps are so similar and you need to understand how to use Blender.

I was able to follow that process but unfortunately the game crashes when I try with the mdl I generated. I'm stumped and not entirely sure what I did wrong.

I have a question about step 3 here regarding deleting unneeded meshes. Do I just delete the vb file and that's it? For example, I am testing this out with the bathing clothes for Agnes and I identified the vb file for the towel itself, what I did is simply delete that file. Is that correct or do I actually need to do more?

Regarding replacing the unmodded mesh, do I only need the modded vb file? or do I need fmt,ib,vb files too to be replace with?

In the 3dmigoto mods, what do I do with the vb0,1,2 etc? I only used the vb file and ignored the numbered ones. Are they important and maybe that's what I missed?

if you have time. I hope you can help. i attached the mdl I generated if it helps. thanks

thanks I did that but sadly still no luck.

I checked the crash logs and I saw this error

21:37:54.081 E No character face material found (chrid = 11405)

I have no clue why because I'm pretty sure I never touched anything regarding face.

At least I think I didn't.

Absolutely no idea how to fix. Hopefully someone can help

For the towel mesh, just delete. As long as you delete one of the files (fmt, ib or vb) the script will skip the mesh.

Please try deleting a single mesh and loading it in the game first, so you know that is working. Do not try to do everything at once.

When replacing the mesh, you must replace all three files. The files cannot be used individually.

I cannot help, I only have access to my smart phone right now. And I do not own the NISA release anyway so I could not help even if I had access to my computer.

I assumed that you want to use your own 3DMigoto mods in-game?

.vb file is what you get when you export when blender, but to use the mod in-game, you need to split the .vb file into .vb0, vb1, etc using the python script. Then you reference the vb0, vb1,etc files inside the .ini

I tried just removing a single mesh but it also crashed

maybe this is just not compatible with nisa version

If you are using the last version of KuroMDLtools it will crash the game when deleting meshes since it seems it's not compatible with kuro 1 anymore.

Try using an old version like this https://github.com/eArmada8/kuro_mdl_tool/releases/download/v1.0.1/KuroMDLTools_v1.0.1.zip It worked for me.

BTW 3dmigoto works for NISA version so instead of trying to modify mdl files you can also try hunting and updating the hashes on the .ini mod files to match the ones for NISA if that is easier to you.

I have no idea how to get those hashes though and where to change them haha

Are you using Kuro MDL tools 1.0.1? The newer versions apply CLE encryption which is not compatible with NISA.

Ok, I have access to my PC again, so I'll write a quick tutorial on converting a 3DMigoto mod to an MDL mod.  Here I will convert my Agnes' Aramis uniform mod (chr5001_c03.mdl).  The original 3DMigoto mod is available here, and the MDL version is here.  This is the exact method I used to convert my 3DMigoto mod to MDL, updated to newer versions of the tools.

Requirements:

Quote

Setup:
1. Install Python 3, if you don't have it already.  (Microsoft store, I'm using python 3.9 but any 3.xx should work.)
2. Install Blender (free!) in Steam.  Change to 3.33 LTS (right click Blender in steam, select Properties -> Betas -> 3.33 stable LTS).
3. Download DarkStarSword's plugin here (Right Click, Save As)
4. Install the plugin (Blender -> Edit menu at top -> Preferences -> Add-ons -> Install)
5. Download Kuro MDL Tool.

1. (OPTIONAL FOR CLE) First, if you are porting to NISA Kuro 1, you need to disable CLE compression.  (For CLE Kuro 2, compression must be left ENABLED.  For CLE Kuro 1, it does not matter.)  Alternatively, you can use an older version (Kuro MDL Tools 1.0.1 or earlier), but here I will disable it in version 1.3.3.  Go to the final line of kuro_mdl_import_meshes.py and change

            process_mdl(mdl_files[i])

to

            process_mdl(mdl_files[i], compress = False)

2. Put the model in a folder with the tools and double-click kuro_mdl_export_meshes.py.  Here you can see chr5001_c03.mdl in the folder.

It will create a new folder with all the meshes and metadata.

3.  Import all the new meshes into Blender.  (File -> Import -> 3DMigoto raw buffers)  Skip the shadow mesh (I forgot).

5.  Figure out which meshes are the correct meshes.  You can see here that agnes_school_skirt.vb replaces 2_woman01_body79_05.vb, and agnes_school_skirt_flair.vb replaces 2_woman01_body79_06.vb.

6.  You can simply export the new meshes and overwrite the originals (File -> Export -> 3DMigoto raw buffers) - this is the most foolproof way.  Or you can delete the original .fmt/.ib/.vb files, and rename / replace the modded .fmt/.ib/.vb files.

7.  For meshes that should be deleted, just delete the original .fmt/.ib/.vb files. For this mod, no meshes are deleted.

8.  My mod does not have any texture edits.  If you need to change the textures, you will have to edit the metadata, otherwise skip to step 10.  Open mesh_info.json in jsoneditoronline.org or notepad or whatever you prefer - I STRONGLY recommend a dedicated JSON editor such as jsoneditoronline.org.  Go to the section that corresponds to the mesh you need to edit.  For example, if I want to change the textures for 2_woman01_body79_05, I would go to woman01_body79 -> primitives -> 5.  You can see that material_offset is 7.  (Nothing here needs to be changed!)

9.  Open material_info.json and go to section 7 -> textures.  You will see all the referenced textures.  Replace the textures with the modded textures.  For example, if the 3DMigoto mod changes ps-t0 to MyTexture.dds, change texture slot 0 to MyTexture (without the .dds).  If ps-t3 is MyNormal.dds, then texture slot 3 should be MyNormal (without the .dds).  (You can find the ps-tXX information in the .ini file of the 3DMigoto mod.)  Save your file, overwriting the original.

10.  Double-click kuro_mdl_import_meshes.py.  It will build a new .mdl.  If compression is turned on, it will be around 1-2 MB; if compression is turned off it will be around 8-12 MB.

11.  You are done!  Test your mod conversion.  Do not forget to install both the .mdl and the .dds files.  For CLE Kuro 1, .mdl files go into {Kuro}\c\asset\common\model and .dds files go into {Kuro}\c\asset\dx11\image - for NISA I do not know.

Yes, some characters, such as agnes, Feri, Risette need specific dlc swimsuits to use the mod, you can open the game menu and find the corresponding costumes in the DLC item.

I have a model dump of Kuro No Kiseki 2, is there a list that shows what each model belongs to? I see things like chr5409, chr0833. There is a list on the first page, but I dunno if that carries over to the second game.

K1 characters have the same chr number in K2. You can also check this main characters list in K2 post. If the characters you looking for doesn't exist in the list and you know Chinese, check this. I heard there is an English patch for K2 but I haven't used it, so I don't know if the t_name.tbl is translated to English or not. If not, then you might need to google translate the file after you convert it to json format.

Here is my UnSkirt Mod, ported to the MDL format!

Kuro_UnSkirtMod_v1.3_MDL version.7z 51.26 MB · 602 downloads

This version of my mod does not require the use of 3DMigoto, as it replaces the mdl files that come with the game.  Who might want to use this, instead of the 3DMigoto version?

  1. PS4, PS5, Steam Deck / Linux players (and maybe one day Switch if that port happens)
  2. Anybody who does not like 3DMigoto, or anybody who really likes Steam Overlay / Steam Input
  3. Anybody who wants to try using these files with Kuro 2, including the PS4 version that is already out

Since this version overwrites the MDL files that come with your game, PLEASE backup your files first.  I suggest backing up the entire "c" folder.

Also, I made my Shizuna bikini with jacket mod as a demonstration only, but I liked it so much that I included it as a bonus in this download!

This version does not include 3DMigoto.  Please see here for the same mod, using 3DMigoto instead.

How to use:

If you don't have access to all the costumes you want to use, please give my costume-buying Cheat Engine table a try!

Please note: You can use MDL mods and 3DMigoto mods together, but MDL mods will generally override 3DMigoto mods because 3DMigoto depends on identifying unmodified assets to know when to inject.

I cannot see a "c" folder , I'm steamdeck user and I haven't done anything to the game folder yet , can I just copy your folder and that's it ? I believe it would not overwrite anything since a c folder doesn't exist on my installation path

The reason you don't hava a c folder because this mod is made for CLE version(Chinese) and you are NISA version(Japanese). You can't simple copy the file to your folder on NISA version, but mod should still work on NISA with a different install method, check this and look for "----------Installation(For NISA version)----------". I don't own a steamdeck but I heard steamdeck install mod method is same as pc.
