Where too from here? (for me) and maybe us.

So i have been sitting around waiting for another game to release a certain update for the last few weeks (.2 if you know what i mean), so i have been reinstalling previous Skyrim build's from through the decade i was in the modding rabbit hole. i still have every complete working setup i ever made from 2015 on ward's. and it has been a real joy loading up old saves, Character's and setup's from years gone by. Remembering the struggles and fixes of making it all work together, the weeks of desktops, the countless hour's of ck and xedit. and ultimately the quiet satisfaction of roaming Skyrim the way i invisaged it, veritably the most open of open world's (I don't think i have to embellish it to the crew here). 

My last set up is pre AE release so i'm a way's behind the times  .97 i think.

I have i guess 2-3tb maybe more of unorganized mod's backed up because i'm a crazy hoarder, i have so much modding gold dating 2013 on that it would be a crime against the community to let it go to waste, seriously i know i'm not alone here.

I don't have the time or interest currently to build another epic wonderland of adventure's i think it's time to let the old Dragonborn eat his last bowl of Apple Cabbage.

Until we fuck for some freeze dryed A&C ration's on a spaceship with star ship commander Lydia if i can be bothered.

With the future looking awesome for Bethesda modder's and fan's. Honestly what the fuck do i do with this stuff?? i know someone will want some of it or all of it!

How in the 9 do i sort it and/or make it available without being a asshole to the creator's?

Free forever, forever Free was the way but now what?

The only good Way to do it, at least in my opinion is to see if the Authors are still around. If they are still here and you can contact them, ask. Pretty straight forward but some Mods aren't available anymore for a Reason. Sometimes even personal Ones. There is nothing wrong with sharing a Mod or Two with someone in Private but the Moment you put them up for everyone you will do something you say you don't want to do, being an Asshole.

 

If the Authors aren't around anymore tho, i can't say. I've seen some People posting such mods with the Promise to put them down once the original Author voices their dislike. That could be the way to do it right?

 

Pretty sure you would have to look at all your older mods and see if they even work under the New Updates, not talking about AE more about the latest pre AE updates.  Otherwise you drive some people straight to crashes or problems. And also you would have to explain what those mods are you sharing of course.

Will be a pretty big piece of Work to do all this things right. 

 

In my true and honest opinion, i wouldn't be sure about it either, i always say put the Authors Right first. That's where the first part of my Post comes from.
