Straze Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Skyrim: SE Good Day, I have been experiencing crashes on a new Game when I reach a large town or city and I seek help. For example; Using AS-LAL to start in Whiterun Bannered Mare and then I step outside into Whiterun, or when I start Camping scenario and walk towards a large town like Falkreath. I have been trying to troubleshoot it through Papyrus.log but everything looks fine, mostly soft-dependencies errors - so I'm at a loss. Papyrus.0.log This is the Papyrus.log from: Starting New game > Creating Character > Setting up MCM mods > AS-LAL start "camping in the woods" > Walk towards Falkreath and crash. The gameplay in Skyrim starts at: [07/25/2022 - 12:06:09PM] Saving game... I'm fairly new to setting up Modlist (until couple months back, I only used LOOT) to avoid any mod overwriting one another, but it's still messy. modlist.txt Here is my LoadOrder if needed (sorted by LOOT): loadorder.txt p.s. the Papyrus.log error: "_DeAd_" is known by the mod Author and it isn't causing the crash (it still crashes when disabled). The "Element of property nicola89b_lights" is from ELFX Shadows which I'm unable to fix when it isn't overwritten by any mod.
DeWired Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Personally, I think this is SE/AE problem. Namely, one or more of SKSE plugins aren't compatible with game version that you are running. Try disabling all mods with plugins and look if it helps, if it does - enable one by one until it crashes. If it doesn't help - try disabling all mods.

Since the last playthrough I did install couple mods, so I'll look if one of them is actually AE only version. I was thinking of it maybe being Hardware Memory related (cuz of the towns/cities having more NPC's), but dunno if there is a way to check if Skyrim runs out of memory and crashes.
Grey Cloud Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 (edited) CTDs like that are commonly down to a bad mesh. Could be anything - a specific plant or animal for example. Papyrus log isn't very helpful for tracking down CTDs. If you want to rule out memory issues then try Markarth, Solitude and Windhelm during the day. Edited July 25, 2022 by Grey Cloud 1
yorpers Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 It says you have net script framework installed. A crash log from that might be able to help. I agree with grey cloud that mesh problems are a common cause of this happening.

Update: I've been tracking down the problem by disabling every mod I installed since last playthrough (as DeWired suggested) and managed to enter the Whiterun/Falkreath. Been going through the disabled mods few at a time but currently getting Windows Blue Screens with my PC so going to continue later today or tomorrow.

I'll not let the dunning-kruger effect take hold over me and try and help with that. 12 minutes ago, Straze said: Where can I find those logs? For me they are stored here. I don't remember where they are if it isn't manually installed though.

No need, it been happening for a while and started the new playthrough to stress test if what I tried did indeed fix it (clean RAM), but looks like it didn't or only temporary. I'll probably just build a new one cuz it's 10yrs old. 52 minutes ago, yorpers said: For me they are stored here. I don't remember where they are if it isn't manually installed though. Thanks found it, interestingly only 2 were generated and those were from 1-2 months back.

Thanks, will do since I realised that the fix for bluescreen didn't work. Probably has to do with the DDR3 Memory. Btw, I managed to figure out the faulty mod which made me crash every time I enter a large town or city. By my surprise it is: Cum Shot Brothel SE which is a Brothel near Riften but for some reason it crashes my game at other locations. With that mod disabled, I can just enter cities and towns as I please. Edited July 25, 2022 by Straze
