ShadeAnimator
Hi again I'm going to switch from vanilla skeleton to BBP in my animations, so the question is - are there any ready-to-use files for 3ds max for it? I jusg don't want to spend time on Biped rig retargeting setup, and finding out the bone-file list. Anyway, any help on this subject will be appreciated, especially on exporting skeleton FROM Skyrim to 3ds max to work on. I have some knowledge on this subject already, but it is a bit outdated. I already did a lot of animations, and exported them to Skyrim, but I'm not sure how to start working with bbp skeletons. Thanks Link to comment
FastestDogInTheDistrict
I actually have been working with skeletons & creating BBP-compatible meshes completely by accident (yes really, apparently). You can use the XPMS skeleton (get thee to a Nexusry) for this. I have been using the skeleton.nif rather than the skeleton_female.nif which was badly deforming my body meshes, and it is apparently completely BBP-compatible for those who are using SeveNBase TBBP. I'm using SeveNBase Original, so I had no clue until Wast told me. You will need the NifSkope Plugin for 3dsMax to import/export - follow the first few Nightasy tutorials on YouTube to get it all set up. Link to comment
D_ManXX2
Thanks for the heads up yes it seem female skeleton nif is deforming the breast fully in 3dmax. Even though it would make no sense to even do that, looks like script for 3dmax works totally different then blender. Link to comment
ShadeAnimator
I was using Havok tools for animation export, so there is no need in it now? NifSkope plugin now able to correctly export skyrim animation files? (HKX) Is there an updated tutorial somewhere on this topic? Yeah, and another question - will xpms-animations work fine with vanilla skeleton? Link to comment
Monsto Brukes
I was using Havok tools for animation export, so there is no need in it now? NifSkope plugin now able to correctly export skyrim animation files? (HKX) Is there an updated tutorial somewhere on this topic? Yeah, and another question - will xpms-animations work fine with vanilla skeleton? Nifskope plugin will not export hkx at all. The only tutorial I know of on the topic is the one cherry made in november '11 on her bbp release thread. animations designed for xpms will not have problems falling back on a non-xpms skeleton. I have a max file with a couple vanilla animations in it. I haven't looked at it in months, and I've so grown to hate max that I refuse to open it again. It's all yours if it helps and if i didn't delete it. . . I don't think i did. PS... Here's why I hate max http://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/34360/3ds-max-error-dialog-instancing-not-supported-for-this-action/56347?iemail=1&noredirect=1#56347 If you're feeling industrious, google the phrase "instancing not supported for this action". All the hits come back to one of the 3 posts I made. So it's not 'hate' like 'ugh i hate mushrooms on pizza'... it's hate. Like Skynet vs Humans. Like the pharaoh's vs the jews. Hatfields and McCoys. Seething, teeth-grinding, book of the Bible hate so deep that I will personally see to it that it's passed down at least 3 generations. Link to comment
