wosny Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 i have been trying to update my wickedwhims mod to 170 as i still have 169, i have deleted all the old 169 files and put the new 170 files in. but as i start sims 4 and the wickedwhims notification pops up, it says version 169
Crashdown117 Posted July 14, 2022 Posted July 14, 2022 Do you use any cloud syncing service like OneDrive to backup your Documents folder? For some reason, most if not all of these tend to interfere with Sims 4 mods by restoring previous versions of files and/or preventing access to saved games and config files. 1

I have seen the exact same issues with both Dropbox and HornetDrive around here, and apparently Google Drive also doesn't do any better (from what I've heard). Another possible source of interference could be your antivirus software, although these programs usually tend to delete script files rather than reverting them to a previous version. Still, whitelisting your Mods folder might help. If all else fails, rename your "The Sims 4" folder within "Documents/Electronic Arts" to something else. Once you launch the game again, it will be forced to create a new TS4 folder, into which you can put the new mod versions (simply copy over your saves, tray files, and whatever mods you don't update, then delete "localthumbcache.package"). 1
