Idaho46442 Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 After updating my WW to v170f, my adult sims no longer make the correct sound whenever they walk barefoot. Their footsteps now sound as if they are still wearing shoes. This happens with teen/young adult/adult males and females, but not children. This makes me think it might be something to do with the new v170 body (I haven't checked elders). It happens in all outfit categories whenever the sims are not wearing shoes. I've tested on a new save with no mods or cc other than WW v107f. If I switch back to v169b, or if I remove the mod altogether, then the footsteps sound normal again. I've asked others to test this in their game and they get the same thing. It's only a very minor issue; I can turn the sound effects down in my game options so it is less noticeable. I'm mainly just posting this in case it's something that might be fixable in a future update.   If this is not happening in anyone else's game, please let me know and I will troubleshoot further on my end.  Thanks.  P.S. Sorry for posting this in two different spots. I'm not sure of where is the best place to post this kind of feedback.Â
Idaho46442 Posted July 14, 2022 Author Posted July 14, 2022 Just to follow up on one thing: I have found one outfit where my sim makes the correct footstep sounds when walking. It's the special towel outfit that sims wear at spas or after showering at a gym. I have no idea why it makes the correct footstep sounds with this outfit and not others, unless it has something to do with the outfit category.Â

Idaho46442 Posted July 14, 2022 Author Posted July 14, 2022 (edited) Thank you for looking into this.  Were you using v170f or a Patreon version? I do not know if they are the same.  I am currently using WW v170f and Necrodog v.8 cc feet (Edit: I had the WW Body Selector set to Default, so they are v170f feet, not Necrodog) on my adult female sims and no cc feet on male sims, and they both make the same sound. The bare feet are making the same sounds as sneakers. Child sims do not make this sound. I tested on a new save with no cc feet, no mods or cc at all, other than WW v107f. If I switch back to v169b, or if I remove the mod altogether, then the footsteps sound normal again. I haven't yet tried anything with feet settings on the Body Selector, so that will be my next step.  I've asked other players to test this and they are hearing the same incorrect sounds that I am. We just need to figure out what we are doing differently than you are. Thanks again.  UPDATE: I went back to my test save. I removed all mods and cc except for ww v170f and then I deleted my localthumbcache. With the WW Body Selector set to the Default setting I get the wrong sound, ie it sounds like my sim is wearing shoes. If I change it to Native/Override (EA Maxis feet) then it sounds normal again, like bare feet. The same thing happens on my regular save with all of my mods-- if I use the Default setting I get the wrong sound, but if I use the Native/Override (which sets it to the Necrodog v.8 feet) then I get the correct sounds. Personally, I think the new v170f feet look better than the Necrodog v.8 feet, but the sound is distracting. For now, I'll keep the v170 feet and just lower the volume on the sound effects. The WW default feet really do look good in my game.  Edited July 14, 2022 by Idaho46442 Updated information
Idaho46442 Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 Just to update, I am still having this same issue with v170g. The default EA Maxis feet make the correct sounds when my Sims are barefoot. The much nicer-looking WW feet still sound like my Sims are wearing shoes when walking barefoot. I am not using any other CC feet in my game.
Husk Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 The latest release rolled back to old feet so this shouldn't be an issue, weird.
