Sims Can't Age Up to Teens

Pretty sure this is due to KinkyWorld, since it's only the child to teen transition that freaks it out and I'm guessing it has to do with instantiation of the Sim or something. Tried uninstalling KW but it sent ErrorTrap into cardiac arrest, even after resetting the whole town. I'm going to keep troubleshooting it on the side, but just wanted to check if anyone else has heard of this happening?

Yes... to the part of also having this problem. Perhaps a bug in 409. You use that version? I know of someone who has been trying to take apart KW code and fix things, but haven't had a chance to mention this to him/ her (not sure and doesn't matter).

I had had problems with children in Moonlight Falls disappearing. They would not age up and eventually gone with no thumbnail pic. Thought it a glitch in EP7 at first. Still may be in part.

What I have done lately, is to use Nraas MC to age them up. I click the child, MC> intermidiate> trigger age transission, then go to town view. If I stay on the child, the game crashes. While in town view, save as. Then return to the child and reset, as KW says it's not it's fault, but we know why we get dwarfs! Reset the child fixes that.

Please post whatever you find!

There was some posts in the KW section where a few of us discussed is but nothing was ever determined.

I play with aging off myself and when aging issues were mentioned I created a couple for my 'test map', turned on aging and pregnancy (which are both disabled in my normal saves) and proceeded to check for myself.

I was able to take a couple and went through pregnancy, birth, and then used Master controller to 'age up' instead of waiting for 'days'. I had no problems taking that baby from birth to old age and death while using KW, NRaas Story Progression, etc. . . . .

Other discussions concerned not being able to use the Hospital when the baby was due which I tested myself and found no issues.

All I was able to conclude is the Sims 3 has issues out of the box which many outside people did their best to try and fix - hense the NRaas stuff. Over 10 years, many mods have been created by people of varying abilities with inevitable conflicts have arisen, many not documented or accounted for. Just because I had no problems with certain things is no guarantee others will have no problems because of settings, CC usage, and an unknowable combination of effects due to them.

In the past I have tried to 'age-up' children in CAS and it worked for most cases although while being a child, many 'hidden' (special) outfits can be created like trick or treat outfits, which aren't cleaned up when transitioning age in CAS which causes some damn ugly results when they try to wear those (fortunately many outfits can be removed with Master Controller) but still it was a reminder to let the game age up sims 'organically' by having it happen in game.

There are just so many mechanics involved in this game that were never properly addressed by EA and now with the amount of mods we have I'm just happy my game works at all. If I can fix something - I do, and if I can't - I make decisions and move on.

I'm hoping others may have something more concrete that will help you specifically, as I can't since I don't have the same issues and any testing I did had no usable results for others. I can only report my experiences.

I remember your test. One of the things that I am beginning to wonder, is it related to Moonlight Falls in some way, as I really don't recall having this issue when using other worlds as my starting point. My family resides in MF, and that is where I noticed the kids disappearing. Only other was Belisama Hemlock, who sometimes vanished between toddler and child. Still, never ran into the game crashing during forced age ups.

I have had the game CTD when children in my household aged up from child to teen, and in varying ways, and locations, but I am thinking that MF as my homeworld may be key. Varying ways = normal age up, birthday cake, MC cheats, MC> intermediate> age transition, age up in CAS! Had birthdays while ITF, and crash. But again, MF as homeworld seems to be the tie in.

Age up crashes happened as recently as Saturday. I also found a new program on MTS, but have not tried it yet... from description, looks like a newer version of Dashboard tool.

Would be interesting which homeworld @hereforthemodzetc is basing in.
