LilythArdat Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 Hello everyone. I don't know if it makes sense to submit this issue on this forum, I already tried writing on answers.ea.com but I haven't received any answer yet. I've been noticing for several days that a lot of Maxis original pre-made townies and households that I put into scenarios (but don't personally control) keep disappearing as if they die in their house (even with families with babies and children), and once this happens, the lots they lived in are automatically emptied. It seems impossible to me that I am the only one with this problem, I have searched everywhere but only found questions about player-used SIMS disappearing on their own, or ghosts of deceased Sims being deleted from the game. To give you an example, Sims like Salim Benali, Judith Ward, Brytani Cho, and Ito household keep disappearing from my game and taking away all the furniture inside their homes. What can I do about it? I have tried to solve it by increasing the maximum number of Sims in the game to 150, and it is impossible for me to have reached this point already. In addition, I am currently playing a game in which I control 7 family units, for a maximum of 10 Sims I created and controlled. I have several mods installed, but they are all quite up-to-date. Can anyone help me or give me an explanation as to why this happens?
Aria169

One of the games features is called 'culling' and it will remove Sims or Households from the game at random and spawn new random Sims and move them into homes. The furniture removal isn't part of it but outdated Basemental Drugs has been known to remove doors and such. Download and install MCCC if you haven't yet and you can disable 'culling' in settings but don't remember where exactly ATM. Maybe it's the population menu? Need to use a computer to access all the settings. In game if you don't want the game to move in Homeless Sims go into game settings and disable move-ins. Might have to do this in MCCC settings also. If you don't want the game adding tons of random Sims... Download & use the NPCC mod. Dig around in the settings and enable both homeless and residents to be used for Service Sims. NPCC menu is shown when you click on your Sim or other Sims and you can assign/remove jobs if they aren't already working. I also play with all aging turned off in game settings so I don't lose my favorites like Bella & Nancy or other Custom Sims I've created/added.

Okay, I'm trying with MCCC first, disabling the culling option (yes, it was in the population-related menu). I'll play for a few days and let you know if it works out.

So over the past two weeks I have continued to play and confirm that if a household disappears from a residential lot as if it never existed, this empties the lot of its furniture when I try to fill the house with other townies. But if I go into build mode of the supposedly empty lot, I find all the furniture in place and can even save it to my library. The lot, however, will remain without furniture once I transfer other townies into it. In addition, I have found that the disappearance of these pre-made townies occurs concurrently with the game's creation of those townies needed to fill scenarios (e.g., to create bartenders for pubs, cooks for restaurants, scientists and soldiers in StrangerVille, college students in campus dorms). I've disabled culling through MCCC, I've disabled neighborhood stories completely, but the moment new townies are created for those situations, unused in-game households such as the Bjergsen, Judith Ward, the Harris family, the Goth family, disappear without any logical connection. The only solution I'm thinking of is to save the households I'm actively using in this game, and create a new save, because at this point I can only think it's my save that's corrupted. And hope that it's not really the few MODs I have that create this bug.

And hope that it's not really the few MODs I have that create this bug. First thing I'd do is try an Origin/Steam Game Repair and delete your localthumbcache.pkg afterwards. Then in MC_Population look at Move-Ins/Homeless and disable it. The game goes crazy spawning new random sims every 5 minutes and won't stop, and then it tries to move them into households every Fri at Midnight. I use the NPCC Mod to put a stop to that garbage. In the settings you should enable both Homeless & Residents for it to use. It will only allow new sims to spawn if it can't find any that fit the bill. There is also another setting for 'Do Not Generate' (New Sims) When it's enabled and you travel to vacation worlds there will be no NPC's spawned so no Bartenders, etc. Best to just leave it OFF as it does a pretty good job on it's own controlling the Spawn Fest. BTW the Furniture bug I've had myself when I moved a Sim from one house to another. And I've also been locked out and can't move in a new Sim in afterwards. It's a known game bug of sorts. I always move another Sim into a house before I move one out. Never leave a house empty once it's been occupied.
