Help with GIMP and removing parts of a DDS texture files (DEZE CLothing Set)

So I'm trying to adjust a few clothing textures, example, trying to make a dress just a little bit shorter but whenever I erase the bits I want from the texture and reload it to nifskope nothing changes. I've edited plenty of textures before but for some reason the ones from the specific mod will not allow me to remove anything from the texture. I can repaint it, recolor, add lines and whatever, but I can't remove any of the texture. The closest I've got is removing in paint.net but then the removed part shows black, but not transparent. I've used GIMP and Nifskope to edit textures before with no problems, but this specific clothing mod I can't figure out what is stopping me from making minor changes. I'm wondering why and if there is something I can do to fix it.

Is there a NiAlphaProperty already added to the dress? Sometimes it won't work if there is already a NiAlphaProperty added to it so you would have to delete the NiAlphaProperty that is on it and then reapply it with nifskope.

I'm not sure I'll go in and look. So if it's there, delete it and add a new one and thats it? I don't have to mess with any of the properties or add any other info? I'll try it now and report back

Update: I didn't see a NiAlphaProperty so I clicked on the dress and inserted one and it went to the bottom. I saved it in nifskope, edited the texture again and nothing changed. Should I be right clicking and adding it to the armor piece or the 0NiNode at the top? I posted a picture of what it looked like after I added the NiAlphaProperty

Update: I fixed it. I had to add the niAlphaProperty by right clicking, going to Node, then attach property then NiAlpha. Added it to the piece I wanted to edit and its working now! Thank you for your help

Your welcome. I never used 2.0 for anything other then for exporting outfit parts out of it in .OBJ format as I used a older nifskope version as my main one. In that one I just had to load the nif right clicking the piece I wanted to add it to and then going down the list and picking it to adding it to the piece.
