Cute flat shoes!

Okay, I know this has been asked and answered many times in the past.  But past threads on the topic have never turned up much, and new clothing/armour mods continue to be churned out constantly, so since it's been a while since I've seen it brought up, I figured it was time to re-open this old can of worms.

 

So, without further ado, what are your favourite flat—or even just low pumps—shoe mods out there these days?  There are literally thousands of high heel mods on the market, but finding cute flats is like looking for a needle in a haystack.  Insert obligatory joke about lesbians in comfortable shoes here.  Has anyone found any worthwhile metaphorical needles lately?

 

I would absolutely love to just find some basic ballet flats (e.g., image below) that were available in a variety of colours consistent with Skyrim's usual palette.  But, at this point, beggars can't be choosers, so I'll take any suggestions anyone has to offer!

Flats (/ flats-ish) that I'm currently aware of:

• Divine Elegance Store includes some very slight pump slipper things called DE Elven Sandals in a variety of colours.  These are my usual go-to.
• Divine Elegance Store also has some what look like black patent leather balmorals called DE Hermos Shoes, which look a little out of place in Skyrim, but they're at least decent looking shoes.
• The old standby Osare Maid Outfit has some ostensible high pumps that, at least for me, wear more or less as flats.  I'm not sure if the SSE 3BA port I have just wasn't done correctly, or if they're supposed to work with the ancient HDT HighHeels or what, but the heels just clip into the ground, so when you're standing still, they look pretty much like flats.  This isn't a terrible solution if you don't look too closely while running, but the textures are also ancient, and it shows.  If I knew how to just chop off the heels and upscale the textures, this could be a pretty serviceable solution, though, honestly.
• There's the big IceStormNG shoe collection, which contains a bunch of flats, but they're Fallout assets just imported directly into Skyrim, so the colour palette feels really out of place—lots of really bright, oversaturated colours that look really plastic rather than resembling leather or fabric.  A lot of them are also just a bit off in terms of shape in a way that's hard to put my finger on.  After going through the whole pack one at a time when it was first released, though, I was very disappointed to not find a single one that I felt I could call cute.  Your mileage may vary, though!

 

And honestly, that's pretty much it!  So has anyone else had any more luck in this search?  Or, if anyone reading this is a Skyrim clothing artist, note that there's a hugely underexploited niche you could move into!

Not a bad find.  That pattern is... a lot... but given the paucity of options, I'd say they're certainly worth a place on the list.

Yeah was thinking the same, just did a quick edit on them and dropped the lighting and saturation and made a new lighting curve for them. Feels a bit more skyrim to me now.

The mod author doesn't want their assets used outside of nexus(and I respect that) so I can post it there and drop a link here for it tomorrow as it's quite late here now. I may even just make a new texture entirely for them and drop that here tomorrow too. But yeah I'll definitely share it.

Well, I did mention "looking out of place in Skyrim" or the like a few times.  I'd prefer something more "lore-friendly" that looks more leather and cloth.  That said...

Chucks are a classic indeed, and that mod's meshes and textures look incredibly well-made.  I'll have to ponder whether I can come up with a way to rationalise their appearance in Tamriel, lol.  Definitely a good shout that deserves to be in this thread.  I'm happy to assemble as exhaustive a list as possible.

Hmm.  The colours are, I guess, pretty oversaturated.  It's similar to the IceStormNG pack.  Don't really blend into Skyrim's palette. ?

GarudaB has other shoes with small heels and maybe some flats. As is always the case when outfit finding shoes aren't always shown, and as I haven't installed any of them to check so they may be all there is.

Hard to tell from the link.  I'm not at home on my gaming PC at the minute, so I'll have to look into them further when I can download them and examine the shoes up close, but this looks very promising!  Thumbing through more of his work, it seems like this artist is probably a good find in general—there are some cute dresses and such, too.  Although the child character used in a lot of the screenshots is... unsettling.  Definitely a good shout!

Right?  The way most authors present their outfit mods drives me kinda crazy.  All the carefully posed screenshots of your character doing something cute in the outfit are fine, but maybe spend the same amount of time it takes to set up one of those screenshots and just give us clear images of each element.

So that particular mod isn't really what I'm after, personally—not a fan of the silly pointy toes—but regardless, they certainly merit a place on the list.

But you did lead me to some very promising candidates.  I haven't found anything I'm super excited about from that artist yet, but I still haven't gotten through it all.  There's a Japanese artist that the guy you linked has retweeted a number of times, though, who has also made some really nice stuff.  These are my current frontrunner:

Not quite my dream shoe, but definitely cute, and they look quite well-made.  Would love to see some more colour options—the dream would be perfect matches for the colour options of Ebonite Devious Devices—but they come in four colours that work pretty well with Skyrim's palette, so I'm not going to complain!  Probably the best non-high heeled shoe on the market that I'm aware of at this point.

So I've just finished poring through his entire Twitter history.  Downloaded and ultimately deleted a bunch of his work.  But I did hit pay dirt big time to justify all the effort.  Once again, I'm not in love with the only colour option, but the design is great.  Definitely another candidate:

Easy to miss, as it's tucked away in an apron mod. 

 

If only there were better colour options for this one and the RR one from my previous post, I'd be set for life.  Alas, I can't complain, though, as this has already been more productive than I expected.
