NMM not starting

Hi everyone

 

Im having a bit of a problem. For context I have two versions of NMM (one of my desktop and one on an external drive for travelling). I went to update my mods on the external drive through my pc, however, in doing my two versions of fallout new vegas conflicted and the mod manager got confused. It began saying there were mod files missing and asking to update and install different mods. I tried to wipe both versions as the game stopped working and my nexus would be stuck in an infinite load. Eventually after a few hours nexus closed and produced a crash dump. I have no idea what I have done and I cannot understand the crash dump. Any help is welcomed. Thanks

Hate to say this, but Nexus Mod Manager is really bad. I'd convert over to Mod Organizer 2 if I was you.

NMM hasn't been updated in 5-10 years and compared to other mod managers out there, is really buggy.

Also the Nexus site is pushing Vortex as a replacer.

DONT use Vortex with Fo3/FNV, best bet is to use FOMM or MO2.

NMM was never good for Fo3/FNV been there done that fucked up all my Fo3/FNV games on that and learned the hard way.

 

FOMM was the original mod manager made by fans specific to those 2 games very good manager and worked every time.

MO2 might be fine but I have not checked that for certain.

 

Best bet is to head over to Tale of Two Wastelands and ask them which manager to use, probably will be FOMM and likely they will have the latest version of it or a link.
