Sims University - None of my Roommates Shower

There seems to be a dorm-wide agreement that no one is going to shower. I get that sometimes college kids can be a little gross, but for the entire dorm to not shower?

 

Jokes aside, what gives? There are plenty of showers, but none of the other sims seem to want to shower. Even one that has the neat trait still won't shower. Everyone has the green smell coming from them, and my sim is disgusted by everyone, all of the time.

The only thing that I can think of is whether they can actually route to the showers. Have you modified the dorm or the bathrooms? I know that I have modified the bathrooms to make them a bit kinkier, and ended up accidentally making it where sims couldn't actually get into the showers.

 

Do the bathrooms have the gender specific doors on them to make them for male or female?

 

If the bathrooms still have toilet stalls and showers in the same room, do the dormies use the toilets?

 

This doesn't solve your shower issue, but a possible semi-workaround might be using the mod that lets all sims take sponge baths in sinks. Unrestricted Sponge Baths mod

Your active Sim can use any shower? Problem only in your Sim's dorm? You can try Nraas rest everything from city hall. It is also possible that you might have to go into build/buy, and replace all of the showers in the dorm, and as @FreakyRufus said, if a routing issue. replace bathroom doors. After that, not sure what else.

Yeah, they used the toilets and even went in there to clean the toilets every now and then. The only thing they just refused to do was shower ? it's honestly that that big of a deal ... it only caused my Sim to feel grossed out around them, but honestly it wasn't anything absolutely game breaking.

 

I did not mess with anything, though. Everything was "as is" as it came with the expansion pack.

Does your sim use the showers? (Not implying your sim is gross, too, LOL, but there are things like the motive manager or the dirt defiant reward).

 

Which dorm is it? I'm wondering if there might be a problem with the dorm. Although, I seem to remember a lot of the time that my sims are in Uni, many of their roommates walk around in their underwear and need a shower, too.

I don't remember the name of the dorm. I already left it.

 

I do full control of my Sim, so yeah, my Sim showers. And all the showers are accessible. I tried them all.

 

Funny you mention underwear ... there was one girl roommate that stayed in her underwear 24/7 and never went to class ? it's just like real life.

I know this is late,  but i just had this issue and apparently adding a couple outdoor showers fixed it. My roommates started using it to shower. I added it outside the dorm next to a small pool, i thought if they won't shower at least they will take a dip in the water and get cleaned, thankfully they just used the outdoor showers for cleaning themselves, I couldn't get the horror of the idea of a communal bath pool 😅

It would not surprise me at all if this was a feature of University Life expansion pack - to have 'select' sims tagged with things like this - you know - that 'One person' in every crowd which fits nicely with the concept of rebellious youth out of the nest for the first time.

 

Of course hidden things like that could act oddly when such 'intense' mods such as KW are introduced. I seem to always remember at least one Sim that wanted to grow up and be Pig Pen from the Charlie Brown universe when playing in the University World and since it is required expansion for KW high school - who knows what cross over actions may occur? If it ONLY happens at University - then the World itself has it's own scripts to affect sims. Clear away confusion with Occam's Razor first.
