Why is there such dislike of the "Aura Whisper" shout?

In several YouTube videos, I've seen "top 10" and "worst 10" shouts featured, and in every video seen, I've seen "Aura Whisper" featured as nearly one of the worst 10. Am I the only one who thinks this is an over-powered (and good) shout, because you can see all your enemies through walls, and actually see enemies in walls? (E.g. Fort Sungard, where's there usually a hostile NPC stuck inside of a wall, preventing you from fast travelling even after killed all the visible Foresworn). 

 

Is it seen as one of the top 10 worst because it's not a destructive shout? [imagine unpopular puffin image here]

I don't like any shouts, period. But that's due to the fact that I don't like being a dragonborn as a protagonist and avoid the main quest. But if there is a shout that I have to pick that I really dislike of them all, it's the one where you shout and stupid insults are hurled. Maybe I'm not the right person to respond to this, but just throwing in my two cents.

I think everyone agrees that "Throw Voice" is the worst shout in the game without any argument. You can distract NPCs far easier without throwing away your position with a shot arrow.

When I actually play the main quest, Aura Whisper and Become Ethereal are the first to obtain, because they're so damn useful.

Worst shout for me is something like Fire Breath, any apprentice mage can do more damage with a simple spell.

When the game is hard, Aura Whisper is the ones that keeps you out of bad suprises. It's also nice to use it when your modding and wondering if your AI packages work like they should.

That's actually one of the reasons I have "More Interesting Loot" installed, as it has a ring with a permanent Aura Wisper enchantment. Because in a pinch I won't remember the Shout key anyway.

 

I also agree with the main quest being so terrible it's to be avoided at all costs.
