there are mods that can strip NPCs, so you could do it that way.

AFAIK no, but he is rather a basic "stand-alone" body type with the distinct body mesh follower, so you can customize him easily within a few minutes if you have a little knowledge on xEdit (SSEEdit) as well as a little bit experience of similar "customization" of the female follower mod. 

 

Since the upload of modified .esp is not permitted in the mod's permission term, I can only show how to edit some of his records to "de-standalone" his body in a text:

 

1. Open his .esp (Yngvarr_Follower.esp) file with SSEEdit, and specify the first three records of [Armor Add-On], that is to say, 0_YngvarrTorso, 0_YngvarrFeet, 0_YngvarrHands with CTRL Key. These records define how he looks in nude with his stand-alone vanilla mesh and standalone texture (for vanilla mesh) in the game.
2. Right-Click and select Copy them with "Copy them override into" <new file>.esp (in the lowest low in the window), preferable with .esl option (that is to say, into a new .espfe file - .esp file with .esl flag).
3. Name this file as "Yngvarr_nude_patch" or something like that, save and close.
4. Open this new .esp file with SSEedit. 
5. Replace 2 sections in individual records, namely Male World Model>MOD2 Model FileName and NAM0 Male Skin Texture as shown in the attached pictures (Actors\Character\Character Assets\.....is the standard file path to general male actors, and SkinbodyMaleOld is the standard texture assignment for older male actors like Vignar Gray-Mane.
6. Save and Close.  Done. 
7. (Added) If you use SoS-full or something like that, you'll perhaps need one more step to "schlongify" him by assigning the genital from MCM, since he does not belong to an ordinary Nord race, rather copied, special one.
