FAFF playidles are resetting after a few seconds.

I recently realized that Sexout contains FAFF content.

I can open various morphs and expressions, but they always

reset back to the vanilla expression after about ten seconds.

I'm not using any of the animations within FAFF; I just want to

preload an appropriate expression on my PC's face prior to

sex animations.

Any tips for fixing this would be appreciated, or if it requires

reinstalling a Sexout component a clue as to which one needs

to be repaired would be helpful.

Thanks

FAFF and other facial animations are like any other animation... if another animation comes along and moves the bones or resets the bones, the animation can be changed/reset. EVP called at any time will often reset animations as the actor plays an idle for a split second before resuming its proper animation. EVP is called by the engine regularly on every NPC (every 30 seconds or so) no matter what we try or do about it. One of the main problems is that vanilla idles often include a facial expression of some kind.

The best way to solve the problem is to instead of preloading the expression is to have it play during the animation and keep playing it (to override any resets that occur during). The most common method is a token or using timed StartConversations or HELLO dialogues or say/sayto.

Basically, what I'm saying is that any animation can be overridden at any time by another animation of equal or higher priority and acting on the same bones within the skeleton. To guarantee an animation keeps playing, you have to use one of the standard methods of keeping them playing the correct animation.

As a player who can't mod, your best option is actually to just open the console when their expression changes and re-issue the ActorREF.PlayIdle FAFFAnimationREF command.

You know, I have used FAFF extensively on a previous install of Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3.

I never had this sort of problem keeping it going. The previous NV install was pretty

heavily modded, although it contained no sex mods of any kind. I was able to combine

face expressions and body poses with just the occasional glitch. Using FAFF as it is now,

embedded in Sexout, I can't keep a face expression for more than 5 seconds, face morphs

reset within a second of toggling tfc. I've got a pretty stripped down mod list - mostly Sexout

content this time around. I'm going to try unchecking mods to see if the problem clears itself.

Either something is corrupt in my game, or their are some background processes going on

that aren't present in a vanilla game, perhaps related to a Sexout mod.

Did you open the facial kf file in nifscope ?? how is the cycle type set ?? if it is set to CLAMP try making it LOOP instead. I am not really sure you can even play FAF file correctly when any sexout animation plays, last time i test any facial in new vegas the only way to fully get it to work was to embed the FaF directly into animation witch was playing, but it was allot of work to do so i quite doing this.

I can't get the expressions or morphs to stick when my character

is standing there doing absolutely nothing, I'm not even trying to load

a playidle prior to an animated sequence at this point.

 Thanks for the suggestions, though.
