In all fairness wasn't it just 1 person that tried it and even they said they weren't too experienced with it?

Personally I'd like more than just a bit of nudity, but that's my own depravity lol. I think the game Going Medieval is in the same boat, won't really see any heavier mod development until its fully released as well.

Though I can definitely see the potential with V-Rising, just don't know how more in depth game-changing mods will really work with it and the servers.

Tried my hand at this once more as I received a tip on where I could look for info on changing the model.

Long story short, I finally did it. 

 

Though there are still some issues like the body clipping through your armor, or the basic face being blank.

I think the issue is the file path. Readme should put that first folder here:
steamapps\common\VRising\VRising_Data\StreamingAssets\SubScenes

instead of here:
steamapps\common\VRising\Vrising_Data\VRisingServer_Data\StreamingAssets\SubScenes

Wow this is an amazing start! thank you so much!

 

Just same shame about the 2 bugs, as i use the default face so seeing the eyes go missing is unfortunate but it really is a good start and its only v1 of the mod so bugs are to be expected. I really hope you get to work on this more, seeing this has mod has really made me happy

This is amazing but I can fore see problems with it down the line since the game is Early access and they are already doing a major update come next month. But yes I will be keeping and eye on this because I would love to see more NSFW mods for this game, Décor, Skins not just play but slaves too, floors/walls, etc...

Game is getting a large free update next month. I hope it doesn't break the nude mod. But on the plus side with a large update might mean a lot of new players start the game and it might speed up the modding community for this game.

The game just had a massive content patch, it's not going to work correctly until it's updated for the latest version.

I really like V rising I wish there were more mods in general or mod support.

this is a good start I just hope well one day get more than just nude bodies.

The problem with modding V Rising are twofold for now: it's in Early Access, and it has a PvP focus. The EA part is obvious, as frequent updates tend to break things in the source code, let alone modifications. Secondly, Stunlock are obviously focusing on balancing the game for PvP, and supporting mods can open the door for exploits. Even things like cosmetic mods that change the characters' meshes can have an impact on hit boxes. Maybe down the line they'll go the Bethesda route and see how mods can keep a game alive for decades and officially embrace the community. For now, the best we can hope for is people like Ibsum following their passions and putting in the work to give us a future filled with vampire ERP. Kudos

Any additional work on this yet? Would love to be able to use it even with bugs, as long as it looks and functions decently. I know Gloomrot changed some animations, am unsure if they updated anything other than animations.

+1 to this request. Sorry this is not a more meaningful contribution. I'm an hobby developer, so I understand the struggles with Unity and Early Access volatility and thus this isn't intended to put any unwarranted pressure on anyone.

 

I do, however, want to give props to Ibsum for the work already put in despite the currently fluid nature of this game. I have the desire to learn, but not the time to invest in improving my 3d artistry, so mad props to those that do invest the time. I'm even willing to sub to Patreon accounts that put in meaningful effort into their work for mods like these. Cheers!

A 1.0 release is slated for Q2 2024. Really hoping this means a texture mod will be easier to do and maintain, but it's hard to tell as the engine is still a custom one they're developing along side the game itself. In any case, at that point we might get mod support, or it should at least be less likely that further updates will bork mods. Here's hoping!

Well... as the degenerate I am, I always want games to have a sex mod lol. Would be really fun to do in V-rising. Like playing a female vamp and getting gangbanged by a.. well... gang of bandits.. Or maybe something with the abduction system where you can have some fun with your Toys- I mean.. bloodbags.. yeah!

As an exercise, I'm trying to replace the base outfit with a bustier version
I've successfully extract related .bundle file
I've successfully extract related CAB-b0312fe3841b34fb910d560f435ca24b file

I've successfully extract and modify the 3d mesh (as an .obj)

I've successfully put modded mesh back in CAB file

 

And now I don't understand how can I put the modded CAB file back back into the .bundle one, and for now I don't even know if the game will crash (probably I guess)

 

What doesn't help is that I'm completely lost between the software Asset Studio, UABE (asset bundle extractor) and UABEA (avalonia fork of UABE, to stay up to date)
I can't export 3D models from UABEA either, I don't know why

Yes i need this too, its nice to see people have tried. Also the game leaves early access and releases fully tomorrow. Hopefully that will make it easier for modders.
