Ash1337 Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 How can I get the SLF and the rest of the mods to work with 1.6.342 (SKSE 2.1.4)? When I use the 2.1.5 version I get a crash on startup and I can't seem to find a Framework version compatible with 1.6.342. Can anyone help?
crococat Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 SKSE 2.1.5 is for Aniversary edition, not for LE or SE Skyrim. Use your version of SKSE (1.7.3 for LE)
Ash1337 Posted May 14, 2022 Author Posted May 14, 2022 Just now, crococat said: SKSE 2.1.5 is for Aniversary edition, not for LE or SE Skyrim. Use your version of SKSE (1.7.3 for LE) I am on AE, just 1.6.342 and not 1.6.353, and thus I am on SKSE 2.1.4 not 2.1.5
Just Don't Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Why are you staying on a 1.6+ version that isn't the latest one? You feel like updating but just a little bit? Every mod supporting 1.6+ will ask for SKSE 2.1.5 (or latest if a new one is released) and the latest game update. There is no point in supporting a version that was out for 3-4 weeks. Update your game, then get the correct SKSE version and get mods compatible with your installed game/SKSE.

It's just that it would break all my mods and I would have to re-mod the game every time bethesda decides to fix a minor thing.

It won't break all your mods. Only mods made specifically for 1.6.342 or SKSE 2.1.4. And as I said these are very few, hence why you can't have a working SL in that version. The fix is simple, update your game/SKSE to the latest version, grab a version of said mods that is compatible with 1.6.353/SKSE 2.1.5. If a mod exists for 1.6.342/SKSE 2.1.4, it will surely exist for the latest game/SKSE releases. If you don't want to deal with updates at all: downgrade to 1.5.97 and SKSE 2.0.20, disable Steam automatic/background updates, get mod versions made for that. Then you can completely ignore any mention of AE, SE 1.6+ or SKSE 2.1+. What you're doing is half of each approach and it'll suck.

Thanks for the guidance!
