aaf Issues with sex animations and sound

I've been having some problems with the AAF animations and the various sex sounds (I'm using both the NSFW Sound Pack and Custom Moans).  For the animations, my issue is that they aren't staged and the sex ends rather abruptly after it starts.  It doesn't CTD or anything like that and the actors all re-dress themselves afterwards, but what ends up happening is that a random sex position will be chosen and proceed to play out for about 10 seconds before everything ends.  Sometimes I'll get moans and sex sound effects, other times it'll be just sex sound effects and others it'll just be dead silence.

 

One way that I've gotten around this issue (at least for the animations) is to have the AAF menu open by hitting the Home key and manually selecting the stages I wish and then ending the scene.  I'm kind of hoping that there's something more automatic though.

 

I followed the steps detailed on AAF Fucking Manual, so I'm not quite sure what's going on.

We can take a look at that real quick and if we can't solve it I would direct you to join the AAF discord (linked in the guide) and ask there.

 

As for the scene duration, first question is did you change anything in the AAF_Settings.ini file?  I would suggest setting the duration to 90, I believe the default is 30.

 

As a test, change your settings file to 90, and initiate a scene using the AAF Wizard (Press the Home key on the keyboard) and see if the scene lasts longer than 10 seconds.

 

The next question is, have you checked the MCM menu's for the mods you are using to initiate sex?  Some mods have their own duration setting.  For example, "Nuka Ride" has a duration slider in its MCM that defaults to 30 seconds.  I tend to also set these sliders to 90 seconds, or in some cases shorter depending on the mod.

 

As for the sounds, do you have the NSFW Sound Pack loading after UAP (If using Mod Organizer)?

 

If you are not using the "Staged Leito" Patch / "Hardship" mods, then you can remove "Custom Moans".  It won't do anything without those mods installed so it's just taking up space otherwise.

I tried as you suggested and switched the default scene duration to 90 seconds and then did the same thing for every mod I had that asked for a "sex animation duration" and set them to 90 seconds as well.  Tried a random scene with 'Sex Em Up' and it worked perfectly - scene duration and sounds.  The only time it didn't work (and where I suspect the real problem is) is when I tried a sex scene from the 'Problems of Survivor' mod and ran into the same issues that I described.

 

2. Yes, I have my NSFW Sound Pack loaded after UAP.

 

3. I'm using the Hardship mod, so I think it's probably better that I keep 'Custom Moans', yes?

Yes, if you are using Hardship then you should be using 'Staged Leito Plus' patch with that, so custom moans is fine.  This part can trip people up but you may have already done it exactly like it says:

 

As for Problems of Survivor... I have not used that one.  My only suggestion is to check with that mod's support thread.  You can click the "Get Support" button from its download page.
