knight77 Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 (edited) I wonder, is there a newer version of the Blender Plugin that works above version 2,79? I havent heared of Ausgeek/DarkStarSword in ages and hope he is allright. There was a Github account of him where updates of that Plugin were uploaded, but afaik it never got updated for Blender 2.8 and above and the old Plugin version I have doesnt run with newer Blender versions. I think last version is from 2018. How are you guys modding? Everyone still in Blender 2.79 or do you use workarounds? Like importing FrameAnalysis with 2.79, then open it with Blender 2.8 or above and edit it, then append edited objects back into 2.79. Blender 2.8 and above has really helpfull functions like edited several separate objects at once without the need to merge them. That helps editing complex costumes. Otherwise I have to do quite ocmplex preparations to do the same in 2.79 so that I dont loose all the weights etc. That plugin is really the only reason why I still use 2.79. EDIT: Interestinly enough, it seems to work on 2.91. At least importing works, but not on 2.93. Can someone test with 3.1? Merging the weights/armatures together however dont come up in search menu. So no way to do what its actual for. Edited May 2, 2022 by knight77

So no way to do what its actual for. He seems to be active on the github. The latest version of github (commit is "eb3eabc") plugin works with blender version 2.83 LTS. I used v2.83 LTS a while ago. However, in v2.8x, there was a phenomenon that processing took time when importing a large number of objects. By the way, in v2.93 and above, the version of python has changed, so the plugin will not work. In order to work with v2.93 or higher, it is necessary to modify the source code of the plugin. I want to take advantage of the latest features of blender, so I modified the source code of the plugin and i am currently using "import / export", "Merge 3dmigoto poses" etc. in v3.1.0. However, some features are still limited, such as "Merge 3dmigoto poses" not appearing in the search menu. (Although "Merge 3dmigoto poses" can be forcibly displayed in the file menu.) I may learn more ways to fix it if I have time. Edited May 2, 2022 by tk2004 1
Kastre Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Hello. I'm using both versions at the same time, Blender 2.79 and 2.91.2. The 2.91.2 only use for editing and importing-exporting vb files. How are you editing several objetcs at the same time in blender 2.8 and above? Thanks!!
starash Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 I used v2.92.0, but don't know anyway to edit meshes at same time, also collected information for this purpose. But in the end I had to compromise by giving each object its own material, then combining them to edit together. Finally, they are broken down into individual objects according to their material distribution. If there is a more frugal way to do this, I would also like someone to be generous enough to share it.

Well, since Blender 2.8 and above you can select several objects at once (but need one main object highlighted yellow instead of red) and go into Edit Mode (standart TAB button). That way you are editing several separate objects. Really neat for editing thing with proportional editing that affects everything around. In Blender 2.79, since I need every separate part to be a separate part to export, I joined the objects together but before doing that, I gave every separate object a Vertex Group that included all vertexes. That way after joining, I could use these vertext groups to easily select that individual object and make it a separate object again after transfering the weights. 2

Just realised I quoted the wrong person for my message above. It was a response to your question
