I am at a loss, I get a CTD when starting the game it loads just before being able to make a selection. played yesterday just fine no problems, today I got on and decided to download the undeath mod. loaded it and CTD on main screen so removed it and tried to start skyrim same thing. Most of the time when it CTDs on main menu it means a master is missing or something critical like that, but nothing has changed. So I removed some animations that where not being used anymore just to clean up the load order. My papyrus logs have a bunch of SPs which I'm assuming is spell perk distributor other than that I cant find anything. I did find out the new version of BHUNP 3.10 causes CTD at main screen but have since reverted back to 3.05 that was yesterday and it was running fine.

1) Does your mod manager show a missing master? At this point all the mod managers (yes, even good ol' NMM) will indicate if you're missing a master.

2) Since you've posted this in the SE/AE section, do you have any LE mods? A common cause of this CTD is using the wrong version of the mod for your game. Again, your mod manager should be letting you know this.

3) Uncommon to the point of being rare nowadays, certain animation issues can also cause this. This one you'd find with FNIS not your mod manager.

1) No it does not I am using vortex and it only shows 2 redundancies but they have been there for a while.

2) I am using SE but no there are no LE mods, Vortex has a bunch that are missing meta IDs but most of them are animations or related.

3) Only one that mentions is amputator "Amputator has at least one AASet definition without any animation files provided" but agian that has been like that for a while now

1) I would but it does not make it that far to make a selection

2) it overrided "more nasty critters, xpms, and animal sos" i have since removed those rulings and deleted the archive for undeath

3) yes i do have SMP on I have "KS hair, Baka sos, and HDT-SMP"

4) I have tried to fix the SP ones but the files they are mentioning are not installed anymore and i cant seem to get it to stop trying to load them, i have re installed "spell perk distributor" but same comments appear. as for the other ones im not quite sure what they are in terms of mods the CWI is "winterhold redone" most of the "missing?" ones are not intalled or have the archives for them

okay, so its been a day since you last played, you only installed one mod and then it suddenly started to CTD before the main menu, and uninstalling the mod didn't fix it? It probably has nothing to do with that mod.

 

I know you're going to want to punch me for saying this, but Restart you computer....

 

I've spent hours with the same issue you're having, I uninstalled my entire load order one mod at a time just to find out the problem was just Windows 10 the whole time... FML.

Just to say, have you tried to remove SMP (Just remove the string from the femalebody with Nifskope) , Have you tried to temporarily remove SMP DLL files in SKSE / Plugins?

It will sound silly but, the aforementioned Baka Factory files cause me an immediate CTD on startup, those from another source, on the other hand, don't. I ignore the reason, but since they work well, I keep ignorance on the subject.

I will definitely do that and try to clean up the log, to be honest i didnt have logging enabled until earlier today because I could always figure out the issue with persistence.

Lol, I Restarted my computer thinkin "what could this possibly do differently" but indeed i can now load the game and play! thank you good sir!
