YomuTheFox Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Hello! So i stopped playing skyrim le for pretty long time, and now after a break decided to comeback, and i need some help with versions. Which one will be better for general modding, LL modding, clothing/armor choice and etc. Which version is more loved by modders this days, should i stick with SE or maybe AE is better in any way? (or maybe its LE?)
Gukahn Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 if you have to ask, LE. You already know how to mod it and you don't have to bother with AE and downgrading. Not want to be rude but this question got asked and answered in detail very often. How about look around yourself?
Heroine HoneyCrotch Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 It's at a point where SE is the probably the correct answer. Since you want modded Skyrim I would avoid AE. LE or SE both have tons of content. And both still require setting up.
YomuTheFox Posted April 20, 2022 Author Posted April 20, 2022 Thank you, i guess i'll stick to SE for something new.

(or maybe its LE?) Been playing with both, Main reason for LE, all the old stuff works and I dont have to worry about it being a failed port or taken over and advanced by someone that is not the original author. Most stuff for SE gets backported anyway, yup DAR stuff all gets backported. Also all the HDT PE physics armors, just hordes of it and more being produced all the time. Main reason for SE, trying out new stuff....Honestly this is more a reason of the port to SE by some modder that is not the original author did not work out well but its still fun. Better reason, SMP physics for cloth and new body types are almost exclusive to SE. Getting the SMP physics to work in LE is a pain but in SE its just 1 file installation done an it works. Main drawback, not as much stuff being made for armors as it is in LE right now! OF course you gotta surf Discord and Patreon to find the bulk of the new stuff for LE. Touched by Dibella body, I really liked the Atomic Beauty body for Fo4 that milkdrinker did, really its just a beauty. Dont like a lot of the costumes for it though and the DeserterX conversions to TBD all suck really bad, right now Im busy converting LadyHorus Tera Armors to TBD its taking some time though but Im happy with the results so far. I actually like the World of Bikini Armors conversion to TBD those really close to decent and show off the new body really well plus the armors have textures that fit skyrim. SE really lacks a lot of sex mod stuff plus Devious Devices does not have conversions to the CBBE 3BA and TBD bodies, although BHUNP looks like its getting close to being ready to use all the DD stuff at this time. So that means not being able to play with a lot of DD content if you go with a new body for SE >< not a good place. As far as stability I have not really noticed a difference between the two but I am comfortable modding and identifying/correcting issues. Avoid AE like you would the plague! You gotta downgrade the SE to SE pre AE stuff to get best use. Look for SE downgrader for best results. After that your golden. AE just has a real lack of stuff ready to work for it and really the main draw is that you get to have something like 100 creation items for 20 dollars or something like that? Not really needed for people familiar with modding already.

Trying out SE rn and new features physycs wise, new armor that never was ported before when i was on LE, and its really neat. My only problem that SE dont have my fav ENB, but thats more of a apportunity to explore for new stuff and try out different things.
