llmods975 Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 (edited) Helps that if I temper being overly generous with being overly critical I’m fairly certain I have the potential to be like an 8+ if I work on myself enough. I’m throwing everything at the motivational wall. Quest protein cookies are great too (when you cut out carbs/sugar they Taste pretty good as you’re not over stimulated with excess aweetness). “If you get up you can have a cookie and when you run 5k you can have another” doesn’t interfere with weight loss i also seriously considered and then invested in a home gym since that’s realistically the only way I’d ever put the time into lifting. I know it’s probably a bit of a sunk cost fallacy thing but I’m using what I can get Edited April 22, 2022 by llmods975 1

I had said in a previous post that occasional workouts throughout the day are a good start to making it a lifestyle. Hell yeah, working out to get sexier is an honorable quest. Kick ass. Today is chest day, going to be bench pressing until my body gives out on me. I'm looking forward to being sore as all hell later 1

llmods975 Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 (edited) Great motivation when you get mild success at your floor. Basically proves you can be chosen and it’ll only get better with improvement Edited April 23, 2022 by llmods975 2

I live for the absolute sting that comes with the lactic acid buildup. Like doing airchairs and holding a smile until my legs feel like they're going to give out under a wildfire. A thrill.

Let the math flow through you, rise up the bell curve and shoot back down the side to victory on a sled of muscle and kickass.

NotWhoYouThinkIAmLmao Posted April 26, 2022 Author Posted April 26, 2022 Today's workout is cardio. I'll be stairstepping for approx 2 kilometers, following it up with pec flys, then back to that fucking rope thing? I dunno what it's called, but I'm going to whip the shit out of those naval docking ropes we have outside, hah!
Idyll Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 How's the training been going Mommy @NotWhoYouThinkIAmLmao ? On 4/26/2022 at 6:31 PM, NotWhoYouThinkIAmLmao said: Today's workout is cardio. Holy, those are pretty thick and heavy if I recall rightly, I can't train on those even if I try my damnedest! 1
NotWhoYouThinkIAmLmao Posted May 8, 2022 Author Posted May 8, 2022 Lift and drop, the struggle is real. I've been running around like a chicken without a head, but the gym still sneaks in at 2 am, haha 48 minutes ago, Idyll said: How's the training been going Mommy @NotWhoYouThinkIAmLmao ? My gym uses smaller ropes, about the thickness of your clenched fist.

llmods975 Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 Tl;dr - I have strong childhood memories I want to recreate with my own kids and working out helps increase the chances of having kids to make that being a possibility So when I was little, back in the late 90s we’d always go to the same beach for vacation every year. We’d leave early and then drive for about 2.5 hours and stop for breakfast. The place that was convenient was a McD’s with a play place. This was something that happened only once a year and for a child that’s an eternity. Last time I went through the place was still there and basically the same. I don’t remember specifically if that was the one I remember the most but logically it would be. This is back in the 90s before in car entertainment too so it was especially a big deal. I still remember getting a van with a 3in Cold War tv/radio thing and having an entire vacation prep ritual getting the thing set up.
Mr. Otaku Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 The problem with motivation is that people approach it the wrong way. Lots of people "wait till they're more motivated" and unsparingly they never find motivation because you can't wait for it to come to you, that waiting process is procrastination. So to anyone looking to get started, start small. If your plan is to go really hard from the start then whatever little motivation you mustered will evaporate within a week. Patience is key so don't worry about not seeing any visible difference within the first few weeks, it's normal. Also keep in mind that you'll get sore faster and stay sore longer in the beginning stages, so it's better to not push all the way from the start. Your goal is to get into get into the habit where workout doesn't feel like a drag anymore so condition yourself properly. Working out through the initial soreness does not cause any real damage so don't worry too much about it as long as you don't push too hard (i keep stressing this point cause newbies get it wrong all the time). And lastly, not all workouts are the same or have the same effect. Don't just go to a gym and start using whatever machine you find, look into what you want out of your workout and make appropriate selections. There's going to be overlap but you still need to understand what you're trying to do with your body and how exactly you to develop it.

I tried many times to go to the gym, and quickly gave up because I did not see quick results and did not change my diet in any way. I eventually developed a lower back injury (this is not related to my irregular trips to the gym), and I had to be very smart about my workouts. I have a strong motivation to become healthy. I found a good fitness coach who has been with me for over a year and I no longer suffer from severe pain as I used to. I have noticed some muscle gains in my back that make me feel good, gradually we make the workouts harder and increase the weights. Edited February 5, 2023 by Donotuy 1

A right coach makes a world of difference, never stop the grind brother.
