[REQUEST] add vertical strafe movement (boom up/boom down) to tfc/free cam

from what I can tell this game's freecam allows you to navigate around freely, with one key exception: the ability to strafe vertically with the camera. this is because the control stick/WASD interprets up/down as zoom forward/back and left/right as strafe left and strafe right, covering only 2 out of the 3 axis. there needs to either be a modifier key that, when held down, replaces the forward/backward movement with vertical up/down strafe movement, or 2 dedicated hotkeys for vertical strafe up/down.

and it didn't exactly provide a solution, as far as I can tell.

 

I find this lack of functionality in camera control to be very annoying, personally, so I'd really like to fix this.

Wow- finally, 6 years later, someone else notices this video-spoiling "feature lack." Here's the deal:

• When you use the game's tfc command, you get full camera control including boom-up and boom-down
• When you use (or enable) SexLab's free-cam mode, you get all camera controls except boom-up and boom-down

This suggests that SexLab is using a different function than the one the console tfc command uses. The point of my now-6-year-old post was to ask the SL devs to switch to the full-featured function invoked by tfc instead of whatever partially-crippled function SL has used since forever.

 

Also, just as info, it's not the joystick that controls Boom-Up/Down, it's the shoulder buttons (LB/RB.)

 

TL; DR: The game's free-cam function is working fine- it's SexLab's free-cam function that is broken.

aha. I assumed SexLab was simply using the game's in-built tfc. thank you for the info, I couldn't even find tfc controls when I googled it before. in that case, +1 to the 'please fix the crippled sexlab tfc' sentiment, and my apologies for being wrong and stuff.

LOL. Most of us who post frequently, trying to help people on a wide variety of modding subjects, are mistaken at least once a week. Only a small handful of rabid trolls here take offense at it- the rest simply provide whatever new/correcting info is relevant.

 

So for most of us, apologies for being wrong are ludicrous and of course totally unnecessary. ?
