Adjusting NPC head scale without racemenu

Here's the setup

I have a character I am turning into a follower. I have adjusted racemenu>body scales>height and head. It is no problem to mirror the height adjustment in the CK. However mirroring the head scale adjustment is a bit tricky and that is why I am here to ask your help.

So far the best I have learned is nif optimize to LE > (nifskope 2 pre alpha 5) fadenode > facegenninodeskinned > head > transform scale > transform position to correct > nif optimize to SSE > done.

There are two problems with this. First it is quite an awkward process. Second The position transform required to match the offset is a fine number I have not arrived at yet. For my specific scale transform it is -24 and some decimal change that is quite time consuming to constantly convert to/from LE and load the game to zoom in and check if it fits.

This brings me to the specific help I am here for. I am hoping there is a nicer way to do all this. Perhaps a way to avoid needing to correct position in LE nifskope. Perhaps a way to be able to scale transform an SE mesh without needing to convert to LE. Perhaps a way to change the head scale other than nifskope.

And yes, I know about EFF to adjust in game. This is a follower mod; I want it to require no end-user input to work.

Well, it sounds like you just need this to determine the "right" head size from visual observation, correct?

idk. I'm no expert, (and tbh, I don't know how to work on heads and bodies outside the "standard" tools a player might encounter, ie bodylside, racemenu, etc), but I'd be inclined to load the NPC, adjust its head size using the Body Scales submenu in racemenu, (The Manipulator has a hook for the NPC and racemenu), then refer to the scale you set visually back into whatever offboard edit you're using. (CK, etc)  to update the follower/NPC design.

EX: I have one follower that I scaled her head to 1.03 (racemenu-on-Target via The Manipulator) . If I was to want to share her (I can't she's someone else's I just tweaked a couple things), I would already know that she uses a 1.03 head scale in my revision, so then I'd feed that into whichever work environment (CK?)  is used to create followers and NPCs in mods.

Or maybe by using NiOverride commands, but not sure how that would be any more efficient at setting the head scale. (nor how you even implement an Nioverride)

I already know the head scale I want. What I am trying to work around is an oddity of LE nifskope where applying a scale transformation offsets the object which requires you to manually enter a Z-axis transform to undo or compensate

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but the author of this mod used RaceMenu NiOverride attached to some equipable rings to change his follower's head scale. Then he just had the rings show up automatically in their inventory, so no work required from the end-user to adjust head scale. He outlined the process in the mod description.

This might be exactly what I need. Thank you for sharing this with me
